We went to sequoia grill for our staff Christmas brunch and I have to say that the restaurant was really accommodating and service was great. Servers were friendly and catered to our needs. The food was delicious. All in all, it was a lovely time.
We found 2 bugs in the tea. We were not quite sure if it was tea leaves at first, but after taking it out of the tea and examining it on our dish, we were grossed out. After complaining about it, they took away our dish and tea. After 5 minutes or so, the waiter comes back to tell us that because we had chrysanthemum tea, there maybe bugs in the leaves. That is where the bugs came from.
I do not care how the bugs got into the tea, whether it crawled in itself or it was in the leaves. The point is that there were bugs in our tea!
My younger brother and his friends went to eat and after paying the bill, the manager went up to their table and was scolded that if they cannot afford to pay tip, then they shouldn’t dine out. What the restaurant was not aware was that tips were going to be left at the table before they left instead of including it on the tray where the bill is. This in my mind is not an out of the ordinary thing to do as I have done this many of times at restaurants. Just because they are a younger crowd didn’t mean they were not including tips. As another reviewer on this site had said, “they should not depend on tips for revenue”. Tip is a gratuity. Who would want to leave a tip after being scolded to not dine out?
