mmm...brunch!
Submitted Monday, April 19, 2010 - 11:22am [Dine in]

Went here on Saturday for brunch while we were on "The Drive".
The manager greeted us and chatted with us for a couple minutes.
The server was prompt and friendly.
I had the classic brunch and my friend had the burger. Both were excellent and good value for the price, we were full until much later in the day.
The owner came by after our meal to ask how it was and that they were determined to have the best brunch in the area.
I also heard the people sitting next to us saying how much they enjoyed their meal as well.
I'll be back!

I really wanted to love this place

We went here for dinner last night. We sat out on the patio, which was very nice, great atmosphere with the exposed brick, comfy chairs, and the heat lamps.

We had a half pitcher of the white wine Sangria, which was excellent and the bread with the balsamic vinegar was great.

However, that's where it ends for me. The service was terrible. Our server barely noticed we were there, even though there were only 3 other tables. After he brought our food, he never came back to check if it was ok, and when he finally cleared our plates away he didn't ask if we enjoyed our meal. We also had to track him down to pay the bill.

The food....my partner enjoyed his steak and had half of it left over to take home, but I found my seafood pasta lacking. The pasta was slightly undercooked and the whole thing had way too much oil and the portion for the price I paid was small.

Overall, I would go back here for sangria and appies, but I won't be ordering dinner again.

Nice atmosphere, bad service
Submitted Wednesday, January 13, 2010 - 12:33pm [Dine in]

I've gone to Drink Lounge about 3 times over the last few months. Each time I go, the service is poor at best. This last time, our server forgot people's drinks at the bar, added drinks onto the bill that weren't ordered, forgot to put our food order in, spent most of her time chatting with the bartender and going out for smoke breaks.

The food and drinks, once you get them are really good, however next time I'm out for drinks in New West on a Fri/Sat night I will be going somewhere else.

Favourite pub in New West, heck maybe in the Lower Mainland.

I've been going to this pub for over a year now, and it's always good. The interior of the pub is nice and cozy, even better if I get a table by the fire! I just wish they had a better patio for summer.

The food is reasonably priced and I've never had a problem with it, neither have any of my friends, they love the half price pizza night. They also have great drink specials. However, beware, they charge refills on pop, ice tea, etc.

The service can be hit or miss, depending on the server. This place is always packed, but they are usually really good about greeting you and getting your drink order right away.

The crowd is a mix, much like New West itself, never sure who will be at the pub, many times we've been asked to join another table next to us, people there are very friendly.

All in all, this place is great for dinner on a week night and for drinks after work on a friday.

Great for a date on Friday night
Submitted Monday, November 30, 2009 - 12:32pm [Dine in]

We went here on Friday night for dinner before we went to a concert. I had the Lamb burger and my b/f had the Turkey Sandwich with Brie. I love that it comes with fries and salad. As mentioned earlier, what is the dressing on the salad?? It's so good!

The atmosphere was great, there was a wonderful jazz band playing and they turned out to be better than the concert we were going to.

All in all, a great night out in New West, we'll be back soon.

Fantastic brunch
Submitted Monday, September 21, 2009 - 10:50am [Dine in]

My b/f and I have gone to here the last two Sundays for brunch.

Everything on the menu is organic and/or free-range. All of their bread is home made, sugar, egg and dairy free, they also make gluten free bread (yah!!!).

Last week I had an omlette, so yummy, and yesterday I had the bacon and eggs, both times I couldn't finish my breakfast. Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere, and lovely owners.

This is quickly becoming my favourite place to eat in New West!

A little piece of Mexico in New West
Submitted Thursday, September 3, 2009 - 11:29am [Dine in]

We went for dinner on Wednesday night. We were greeted at the door and shown to a table straigt away.

I had a Blue Margarita, it was on the rocks and it was one of the best margaritas I've ever had.

Also, much to my surprise, Wednesday night is Cuban Night there, and our server was great and she helped me pick out a Cuban dinner. My other friends had the traditional Mexican food and they all really enjoyed what they had.

This is a great little restuarant and I will returning very soon!
