My husband and I go to Dragon Palace every six weeks or so and it's really good! Some favorite dishes are haw gao, shui mai, gai lan with oyster sauce, chicken feet, fried dumplings, steamed bbq pork buns, prawn balls and so many others. The staff are friendly enough - can't really expect stellar service at a dim sum place. For two people, the bill usually comes to around $22 and we have leftovers. We have taken friends there and everyone has enjoyed the food. Never had a problem, can't wait for our next visit there!
My husband and I took some out of town guests to Cardero's. Everything was alright. Not great, not poor. The menu is small. I had the shrimp wontons with fried rice. My mistake - don't order Chinese food at a non-Chinese restaurant. Not good at all. The patio was nice but the tables and chairs are all packed together too closely. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals. The restaurant looked a bit worn. It was ok but I wouldn't return.
My husband and I went to the Observatory to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary. We were lucky enough to get a seat by the window. If you don't get a seat by the window, you don't get the full experience of the view. The food was pretty good, slightly expensive for what you get. I recommend the Pink Passion cocktail - it was excellent! The only negative would have to be some of the other patrons - some of them definitely took the Grouse Grind to the restaurant - sneakers, shorts, t-shirts, backpacks and that took away from the ambience. I would say 40% of the people were not dressed "business casual" as the restaurant recommends.
