What a RIPOFF
Submitted Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 11:29am [Dine in]

I had heard this was healthy food, yeah its healthy alright because they give you hardly ANY there isnt enough to be UNHEALTHY!!
We spent almost 300!!!!!! The portobello mushroom is just that a MUSHROOM- No stuffing or anything its just a mushroom with way too much salt around it and then a soy garlic sauce for dipping! GROSS. The waiter didnt even reinterate oh did you know it was just a mushroom and no stuffing or anything?? I thought for 10 bux I can buy 2 packs at costco ( thats 12 ) for that price! When I said , oh I didnt expect just a mushroom he didnt say anything, not I am sorry it didnt meet your expectations blah blah....nothing he did take it off the bill ( big deal ) . Dont go there its a waste of money - small portions of everything and high prices, the windows were covered with seagull stuff too. Most disappointing for my husbands birthday dinner. I will NEVER EVER go there again! The wine is way overpriced too, go to the okanagan and get it at winery prices !

food too salty
Submitted Friday, February 6, 2009 - 4:03pm [Dine in]

I enjoyed the food at the chop restaurant , however,
everything was over salted! Perhaps just a cook with
too heavy a hand, the prime rib was great.
The caesars we ordered came with a HUGE stalk of celery
that had not been cut at all , as a matter of fact it looked
like a kid had made it, and it was wayyyy too salty.
They put too much celery salt in the drink itself as well as the rim of the glass had a good half an inch of salt. The french onion soup was too salty as well as the fries were caked with salt!!
Our waiter did not come around once to fill up our wine glasses and with all the salt in our food we were dying of thirst and had to practically beg to get any water!
I would go back again just to see if it was an off night for the staff in the back.

Top quality
Submitted Friday, February 8, 2008 - 2:24pm [Dine in]

I ate there last Friday night and I was most impressed by all aspects of the restaurant. Food was absolutely yummy. The best mussels I have ever had , with fennel & cream . Outstanding.
I am a graduate of the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts and I feel I know what good high end food should taste like . This is definately it. You won't be disappointed with their service either.

Terrible service
Submitted Friday, February 1, 2008 - 11:54am [Dine in]

This place has terrible service and I was not at all impressed with the food. The server seated us in the back forty of the place and we were more or less forgotten about. Note: I was NOT rude at all to the server at any point!!
Even with the bad service the food was not anything to write home about. The burger tasted gross and the romaine in the caesar was dripping with dressing. I had asked for it on the side , by the way. People who say what do you expect for that price? Well look at it this way I work hard for my money and I want value and quality so I dont want to accept poor quality even if the price is low. I am sure many others would agree with my opinion. What does it take to make a good burger for heavens sake its not rocket science.

Pasta is good
Submitted Friday, February 1, 2008 - 11:46am [Dine in]

This isnt exactly the best for a main course with meat. My husband had the pork rib rack and it was sadly very small and it was also very dried out. I had the veal marsala and it was chewy like gum. The pasta was good but I was disappointed with the fact that there was way too much sauce and no vegetables to speak of other than the salads on the top of the menu. The calamari was ok but I have had much better. Overall if you just want to chow down on a huge bowl of pasta then this place is for you.
