Fresh Slice2529 E. Hastings Street, Vancouver
great slice
Submitted Thursday, April 23, 2009 - 1:56pm [Dine in]

The pizza here has great flavor, and for the price, you a good sized slice. I love the chicken, garlic. I like that they use plastic plates for eat-in so they get reused. For take-out they usually have XL pizza coupon for $10.99. It doesn't get any cheaper or flavorful. I find all the Fresh Slice locations similar, they do vary in cleanliness though.

Jade Dynasty Restaurant137 E Pender Street, Vancouver
dim sum anytime
Submitted Thursday, April 23, 2009 - 1:49pm [Dine in]

I crave dim sum at random times, not usually early enough for most places. The Jade is so conveniently located between downtown or to Tinseltown, I am becoming a regular. Service to me has always been super prompt and friendly, solo or not! On my last visit I took a friend (whose gf is vegan) so it was a treat for him to gorge on pork dumplings and shrimp. Awesome! Beer is cheap and tea is free as always. Love the Jade!

The fact that it is a sausage company makes it excellent choice for breakfast too. I had the benny with some hot sausage on the side (I forget which one), and it was excellent! I have friends that regularly go there and they have tried all the sausages and collectively agree it is excellent.

Only downfall is the service. Our servers - 2 of them - could not remember coffee, only the 1st round, after that it was self serve, not sure still if it is supposed to be since they kept offering. Anyways now I sit at the bar! I think one of the girls was new and possibly her 1st serving job?

Dijo's Pizza & Panzerotto2838 Hastings St East, #116, Vancouver
Excellent crust

Dijo's is the best pizza in East van! This may be the best kept secret in Hastings-Sunrise. The service is amazing. It's more of a take-out/delivery/pizza slice, but if you want to eat in there is an excellent fashion mag. selection and a TV.

Sweet service

I love springrolls so I try many Vietnamese cafes. This sweet little cafe is near the top of my list. I like the lemongrass chicken alot and the springrolls are a 3.5 outta 5. The service is so nice and they are always smiling!

My friend steered me here, I am thankful. Living by the PNE there are only so many choices without having to hit the Drive area. This is awesome value! The hash is so good and the coffee is fine. Free range eggs too. So the decor is a mix of biker/old skool snowboards which is so my style, so for me it works!
