Went there recently on Saturday night. It was very busy, but the service was prompt. I had calamari dinner, which was excellent and not greasy at all. My husband's lamb shank was very tender. Very creamy Zatziki. In addition to usual selections they offer some unfamiliar (to me anyways) casserole dishes too. Will go back again.
Latest addition to the North Shore Vietnamese restaurant scene, the Pho Saigon offers best soup. Very friendly and attentive staff. Only opened a few months ago, they have developed solid lunch crowd. My favorite is #10 (beef ball & raw beef) and crunchy spring rolls. The price is slightly higher than the ones on Kingsway, but still very reasonable. Highly recommended.
I totally forgot about this neighborhood gem and hadn't eaten for a while. My recent delivery order took a bit longer than usual, but they're very apologetic and the wait was worth it. Nothing is overcooked and great flavor balance. The serving size is huge and left over had enough for next day lunch and dinner. I have to order more often.
This is definitely one of the best Indian restaurant on North Shore. The use of spices are very distinctive and superbly aromatic. Great ambiance. Great service. Especially I like the fact it offers different menu items than other Indian restaurants. We tried Dum Murgh (Almond & Ghee based chicken curry) and Saag Wala Ghost (lamb curry with spinach). Both were fabulous. We will certainly go back.
This hidden gem was just opened recently at the location where bagel shop was, right next to the 12th & Lonsdale corner store. I believe it's relative of a restaurant with same name that is located on Kingsway. Excellent soup - very authentic. I ordered #2 rare beef & beef ball, which is as good as any Vancouver East-side Pho restaurant. It was accompanied by lots of bean sprouts and basil, lime and hot pepper. You don't need to cross the bridge to get the real authentic pho now.
I like the ambiance and food was great. Alhough the dish I ordered - Lobster Raviori - was a bit weak on lobster fravor, the dish my husband ordered - today's special, Halibut - was awsome. Although it's a bit pricy - may be norm for seafood - I like this place. I probably go there again for special occasion.
It offers good authentic Korean food with all standard side dishes. I went to lunch recently, and had one of bento set, which was great deal. Highly recommended. I also love their bim bim ba (ENG spelling may be worng).
FYI - I noticed most of reviews below are quite old. I've been to this places a few years and I think ownership had changed sometime in 2007.
I concur with preivous review. This is a great hidden gem of North Vancouver. I ordered one of set menu and it was excellent. I loved small sidess and Korean BBQ was very tender. Great value. Very friendly and courtious service. It was quite when I went - a bit off hours, but I do hope people find this place and treature it.
