A great place to eat!
Submitted Friday, June 14, 2013 - 1:39pm [Dine in]

Ok, I have a confession...I used to work at Charlies. Although I am very fond of both Charlie & Islabel, Im going to give an honest review. The great thing about my review is that I have heard every from so many different customers.
First off the food. Charlie's wife Isabel is the cook & a damn good one, I might add. My favorite dish was the Enchilades Verde with Chicken. Her salsa is to die for and completely home made as are her chips & guacamole. Can you say yummy?! The Mole Poblano was a big customer favorite & I actually with shocked eyes witnessed a woman licking the plate once. OMG, right? I swear I saw it. Anyhow, we need to talk about dessert. The churros are good, but I am in love with the deep friend ice cream. It beyond good & so filling. Make sure you save room for some!! OH!! I forgot! Try the tortilla soup. Soo good!
Service is great. Im not just saying that bcs I was a server, but bcs Charlie tries very hard to speak to everyone of his customers & make them feel welcome & extend his gratitude for their business. I have heard complaints before that it takes too long to get the food. What you need to understand is Isabel is in the back making you your delicious dinner from scratch, not microwaving a soggy premade dish. She puts love & care into the dish & if you can show a bit of patience, the food is coming & is well worth the wait!
Value: I think Chalie's is well priced. There are several dishes until $15 & my favorite ( the Enchildas Verde) was...$12, I think. Its a very filly delicious plate.
Ambiance : They are tried their best with such a small place to decorate it well. They had a ton of decorations brought over from the other address, but you can only put things where you have space, right? Beautiful Sombreros, etc.
I highly recommend Charlie`s. Its so awesome to support `mom & pop` restaurants, so please check them out I know you wont regret it! :)

My boyfriend & I checked this place out bcs we had an entertainment coupon. I would only ever go back bcs we had another entertainment coupon & had to fill our bellies somewhere. Our server was nice & we had a couple laughs with her, but the food was only ok. If I remember right, I got a chicken dish with a sauce spread on it or something (I cant remember for sure to be honest) & uninteresting rice & vegetables. I didn't find it great value & was glad that I had the entertainment coupon. That said, I know other people who really like the restaurant, so maybe I hit an off day or Im too hard to please ;) If your gonna check it out, bring the entertainment book for...just in case.

Very yummy Thai food!

Truth be told, I would go back for sure. I found the food very delicious, but I also found it a good $7- $12 a plate for than you can find the same dish in other yummy Thai restaurants. The place is small & well d├ęcor'ed with great staff. The way the food is served is definetly more fancy that how Thai food is served-guess that's how they justify the over charge.

A little over priced, but good overall.

I have been to The Burrard twice. The renovations are quite beautiful inside & the staff is friendly & polite. The food was good, but I found it over priced for what you got.. Id go back for a few beer, but I like to eat @ places with better value.

I go there fairly often to grab a beer, but the food is gross. We had a big table of us & 3 of us sent our food back. I think that salsa that came with our natchos was actually off....like totally rotten. Super gross.Go full so that you don't end up paying for their gross food out of necessity due to hunger. Good beer. Good staff. Nice, humble environment.

I've been to Browns quite a few times. I think that its a not bad place. The food is so-so priced, not cheap but not totally outrageous. Ive enjoyed my meals every time. Ill go back again, but I have to admit I go there so often due to convenience rather than love.

Submitted Saturday, September 9, 2006 - 10:09pm [Dine in]

My son was attending a sumer program a Rocky Point in August. I met him for lunch. My daughter and i got fish and chips to split. They were very good. Very greasy, but very good. Tons of fries. My son got a burger and fries. Very good again but very greasy. Tons of fries again. If your aching for abit of yummy grease, I would recommend it. A good walk along the seaside would do you good to burn off the calaries afterwards!!

We ate there not too long ago. The guy who owns it helped us and he was very nice and helpfull. I got greak and my husband got lasagna. The lasagna was from a can. ( or so I thought)The food was abit greasy and I would say over priced for the quality. The tiramisu wa great though.
