yummy soup!
Submitted Monday, November 29, 2004 - 2:25pm [Dine in]

We visited Wimaan last night for the first time, although it is right around the corner from our place. We started with a coconut curry soup with lemongrass and it was awesome! The perfect temperature and the perfect mixture of ingredients. Of course we ordered Pad Thai and 2 other dishes (which was too much) that we also very tasty. Overall it was a good experience and I will go back for sure.

I really like this place...
Submitted Wednesday, November 24, 2004 - 8:18am [Dine in]

Shiru-Bay is an excellent restaurant. The food is awesome, the staff are super friendly and I really like the decor. The only problem is trying to decide what to order, because it all sounds so good.

Great food...
Submitted Sunday, November 14, 2004 - 5:32pm [Dine in]

I went to Chambar for dinner and was very curious to see what all the hype was about. The restaurant itself is beautiful with nice big booths for big parties and cool lighting.
We decided to share a couple of dishes (the portions are very small) to start and then order a main. We shared muscles and fries and a mixed green salad. The muscles were amazing and a very good deal for $12. For a main (or what I thought was a main) I had a prawn and scallop dish that consisted of 2 prawns and 1 scallop. The highlight of the meal though was the dessert - a chocolate fonde dante and a rose water creme brule which were both delicious.
I think it will be awhile though before I go back, I just didn't feel that it was worth the money, even though everything on the menu is under $20 you have to order a couple of dishes to feel at all satisfied.

where was the live music?
Submitted Sunday, November 14, 2004 - 5:10pm [Dine in]

I was very excited to go to this restaurant and enjoy tapas and listen to the live band that they are said to have.Unfortunatley I left disappointed. I had the chicken fajita which they claim is the best in town and it did not live up to its claim. The chicken was overcooked and they cover it in this sauce that ends up being all you can taste. I will not go back for dinner, but I will for sure go back for drinks, tapas and music which starts at 10ish.

to carb or not to carb?
Submitted Sunday, November 14, 2004 - 5:03pm [Dine in]

The first time I went to this restaurant I was impressed. I really liked ordering from the appetizer menu because you can sample a variety of dishes and also can avoid carb- overload if you want to, the 2nd time however it was just okay. Our service was good, the food was nothing special and they do have some serious temperature issues. It will be awhile before I go back.

good old standby
Submitted Monday, November 8, 2004 - 6:57pm [Dine in]

Minato is a good neighborhood sushi place. The food is good, although there have been a few misses, and it is served in a timely manner. Last night the scallop cone was my standout fave. The tuna sashimi was also very yummy.

hmmm yam fries
Submitted Sunday, November 7, 2004 - 2:11am [Dine in]

Lickerish is a great little restaurant that serves west coast fusion fare in an atmosphere that is condusive to the many regulars I am sure it has. One of the guys in our party in fact spent a portion of every night there. I can see why, the menu is great, the service is prompt and friendly and the martini list is extensive and to top it all off Sunday nights the food is 20% off and they have a live DJ. I will go back for sure. Oh and the yam fries are awesome!

if you like a good BBQ this place is not to be missed, but be prepared for the biggest pile of tender, juicy meat you have ever seen!

good fajitas
Submitted Thursday, November 4, 2004 - 8:01pm [Dine in]

This is an awesome place to go for authentic mexican fare and listen to mamma poncho sing and play the guitar. I My fave is the jumbo prawn fajita, it goes perfectly with their lime margheritas!
