Five Strikes and Keg at Granville Island is out!!! Underwhelming and Very Disappointing Experience !!!!!!!!!!!!
Submitted Tuesday, April 6, 2010 - 8:48pm [Dine in]

Tonight was a birthday dinner for myself and my girlfriend.

Our server seemed lost, forgetful and inattentive!! Feeling ignored on my birthday while at a dinner for my own birthday party does not leave a very good taste or impression on me.

My girlfriend asked for garlic butter to accompany the fresh sourdough bread, Did not receive it even after the server said "Right away!"

Our Caesar didn't have enough dressing and seemed a bit flat and dry

When our two main entrees came - a prime rib and filet mignon
My girlfriend's veggies were very cold upon arrival and when she finally got a second helping, the broccoli smelled quite fishy!!! Very surprising, very shocking... Food contamination? Foodsafe warning!!

It seemed that our food had been sitting for too long and NOTHING was steaming hot... it was lukewarm at best !!

We took photos of everything especially the over done, limp and soggy vegetables... Yellowing Broccoli is not visually appealing!!!

I asked for the addition of the dungeness crab while we first ordered our meals and we had to wait even longer while our server FINALLY put in the order....It was as if My order of dungeness crab was an afterthought... Very sad ! I would have liked to have both Prime Rib and Crab for dinner together!!!

We noticed that our server's attitude was much more bright and cheery to other tables and felt that our server gave mediocre service to ours. The long waits in between our dishes made our meals cold and flat...even after mentioning politely to our server... we still were ignored and felt we were looked down by our server for our polite manners.... "The Kitchen is busy she replied"..

No excuse.. I don't want to hear that the Kitchen is busy..... We were ahead of everyone and we were in the Keg at Granville Island at 4:20pm.. less than an hour after they had opened at 3:30pm on Tuesday evening before the dinner rush and guess what? I'm a PAYING customer!! It's too bad that Keg at Granville Island seems to favor large groups over single tables with two people in it!!

What, my money isn't good enough?? It felt like a fight to communicate with our server and it's a very sour taste in our mouths and stomachs to feel ignored especially on my birthday

I've got to Keg many times over 30 years, this is NOT the high standard of the Keg restaurants that I remember!!

We paid our bill and just walked out... no connection with our server because guess what??... our server was too busy yakking with other waitstaff!

Needless to say, my girlfriend is very unhappy and disappointed and upon leaving the Keg at Granville Island proceeded to call all her friends and talk about our sad birthday dinner

You have been warned!!!! Diner Beware of Keg at Granville Island
