This restaurant is a well kept secret, at least for us it was. Now it is a favourite. The food is fresh, generous and very tasty.
The only downside for us on each occasion has been the quality of service. The waitress...sometimes two,but only at peaktimes on special holidays, like Mothers Day... is sometimes polite, not particularly welcoming,a little preoccupied. And slow!!! You could have another meal in another restaurant and come back after ordering and it would still not have arrived. Too popular? Too many customers. The last time we came, with reservation, a customer far back in the line-up at the door, was admitted and served immediately...no reservation, but she knew the chef!
Customers here, for the most part, love the food so much that they put up with a lot of inadequacies. But there will be a limit. Keep up the great food, Jagermeister, but don't forget... or abuse... your clientele! Prosst!

Anatoli prices rising too high.

This has been a family favourite for years, almost decades! But prices have gone up on some items, especially the coffees, that are double the standard and for small sizes!! While the food remains excellent, the value for price and size has greatly diminished. And what is a Greek meal without coffee...a stylish , full cup of coffee, to end with?! Too bad, Anatoli... you are no longer on our list.

Salmon House over the Hill

Recently two of us ate here and were profoundly disappointed. Though salmon is still a good value, other fish dishes are not. I had a sole entree that had been frozen since the early 20th Century and was bone-dry with no sauce to hide the aridity factor. It was barely edible. Fortunately they served with it a couple of asparagus stalks and twelve grains of rice, for variety...
For dessert we decided to share an exotic sounding multi-textured chocolate cake,ice-cream and fruit sauce priced at $12. The three components came on a stylish plate with artistic swirls of red sauce, but the other parts...cake and ice-cream had been measured out with a coffee spoon and had to be seen with high-powered magnifying lenses...not supplied. Good-bye Salmon House over the Hill.

Outrageous value

This used to be a very fine restaurant attached to the Hotel Vancouver with imaginative menus and generally affordable prices. We had a modest lunch there recently,no alcohol, and the bill for three was over $80.00. Two of us had clubhouse sandwiches at $21.00 each...unimaginatively presented with half the plate heaped with fries. Coffee was $5 and Cappuccinos $6.
Although the service and ambience are all fine, the costs for the barely average food was outrageously expensive. We could have had a whopping everything buffet for $29.00,which looked impressive, but to have a simple reasonably priced lunch at this stop is out of the question. Style cannot trump content to excuse an inflated sense of worth. We will not return.
