mediocre food, bad waiter, incredible view, not great value

what else can I say? It's a lovely place to bring someone or a group of people for ambiance. The view is spectacular, the environment is warm and classy. My only love for this place is that I can sit for hours and feel comfortable and indulge in the beautiful waterfront scenery. The food is not good. Avoid the lobster pot pie - the lobster is so chewy, I avoided the lobster bits. Flavour is bland. Our waiter was barely there and we had to continually ask for basic things - water, utensils, an extra order of soup which never came until we reminded him, etc. Your money will be better spent elsewhere.

Imagine a Yaletown restaurant that serves delicious authentic Italian pasta in a cozy environment where the service is attentive and pleasant and the $ is about half what you'd spend elsewhere in Yaletown? We have dined here a few times. We'd go more often but we're on the North Shore so it's a little further away. Why go to Cioppino's (nothing against that restaurant... the food and ambiance there is incredible...) and pay double the amount for VERY similar food quality? The best bang-for-your-buck in Yaletown and you'd be proud to have a first date there... it's a classy environment.

Bad Chinese Food in NVan Continues
Submitted Sunday, March 7, 2010 - 2:10am [Take-out]

Since moving here from Vancouver, my husband and I have tried and tried to find a Chinese restaurant that is okay. We don't expect the restaurants here to compete with those in the city, however we still would like to have some adequate chinese cuisine for delivery now and then. We were hoping the story would be different at Coral Court.. but it wasn't. After trying Ming's Garden, Yum Yum, and now Coral Court - we are sad that we cannot say that any of those restaurants are even close to being "good chinese food". As for the Coral Court delivery meal we had, the ginger beef was rock hard... maybe deep fried earlier in the day and served to us later? My molars got a good workout. The sweet and sour pork was a touch better however the batter was mushy and tasted like dough. The spicy bean was soft and mushy and when they say spicy... it means, slightly more spicy than say... scrambled eggs, but if you're looking for "kick" - don't expect much. No offense to the owners as both my husband and I are huge supporters of local business whenever possible... but we won't be ordering from there again.
