I hate eating at Swiss Chalet - it's always nosiy and full of children and large groups and the sound echos so badly in the restaurant I can't relax. But the bar area is quite nice. The tvs are not turned on too loud so you don't HAVE to watch the ever-present sports stations. The reason I'm writing is to comment on the service, which has always been outstanding in both areas. I understand the manger is buying the place and want to say congratulations! If only something could be done about that open cafeteria feeling in the restaurant, I would probably get dragged there more often... the food is fine and I'm always up for the Festive Special!

We took my cousin for lunch hoping for a walk in the gardens after. The food portions for Saturday bruch were tiny and the service was AWFUL. We had at least three different servers and had to wait 20 minutes every time we asked for something. I always tip in restaurants but for some reason i decided not to. For once I just couldn't justify any reason to tip. When the waiter rang up the bill (we even had to go and stand by the cash for 10 minutes to pay), he had the nerve to ASK me for a tip. He said, did you not intend to give a tip? practically with his hand out. He embarrassed me so much I handed over a $5. I'm still feeling put out.
