Come for the patio, not the food
Submitted Saturday, May 30, 2015 - 3:36pm [Dine in]

First time to visit this place in years. The patio as described is very nice, covered and uncovered deck, heated on one side. Great view, clean patio with minimal birds. For a sunny weekend day the patio was very understaffed, the waitress was curt and did not have the time to be attentive. I had a BLT, and I am not sure how you make a bad BLT, but they did. Crumbs of bacon with a funky tomato. Friend had a beef dip, it was lukewarm. It seemed to me that it was almost like the pub gets the business anyway so there is no need to try. Limited wine list. Aside from the view I wouldn't go with high expectations on much else.

I have no complaints
Submitted Saturday, January 3, 2015 - 5:21pm [Dine in]

went for lunch just before Christmas with a friend, and have been to a few different locations previous. Our waitress was friendly, but I think pretty new. Social Lager and Social wine is a great price if you arent into pretentious prices when looking for a simple drink to do with lunch. I had the fish tacos, which I always find on point. My dining companion had the shrimp pesto pizza with little complaint. They were a little understaffed and the waitress had a big party after us,but we werent in hurry. However, the manager came to us to get a drink order and comp'ed our drinks apologizing for the wait. I found that to be very genuine in concern, as we weren't complaining or demanding any special treatment. It made me feel valued as a guest in the restaurant. I know this chain tends to get busy, but my last two visits to his particular location have always been consistent food wise. Its a nice change to a pub

Cannibal Cafe, The1818 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
what a burger should be
Submitted Saturday, January 3, 2015 - 5:14pm [Dine in]

First time diner at the Cannibal Cafe-so impressed. Loved the decor. Our booth was clean and service was prompt and with a smile. I had an American Classic with salad and my fellow diner a Bacon Bad with onion rings. My burger was great-bun was soft and fresh, burger was great. Nothing in my dining experience made me feel greasy or queasy when I was done as some greasy burger joints can do. the onion rings were huge, little doughy for my liking but not too oily. My dining partner thought the burger was very tasty. Go hungry! Sides are all a la carte,so no obligation to get them-id recommend splitting them if you dont have a killer appetite. I cant wait to return.

White Spot4005 Whistler Way, Whistler
consistent food, terrible service
Submitted Sunday, August 22, 2010 - 11:50pm [Dine in]

Went to white spot as it was across from our hotel. we went on a Friday night for dinner. Clean restaurant and good size. My dining partner had the fish and chips and I had the flatbread pizza with salad. the food itself was consistent white spot fair, no complaints. the complaint was the service, absolutely terrible. There were many tables just sitting waiting, and our waitress messed up our drink orders and completely ignored us-she didnt come back to us until it was time to drop off the bill,so we had to ask the person who brought the food to correct the order. Good restaurant to take the kids, always know what you are going to get. just dont expect it very quickly.

went there twice in one week-once on a Monday and then again on a Saturday. Reno's are great, good atmosphere and clean. Good Monday night drink specials. the food however I find is not that great. the fries are deff frozen and not even dressed up to look like anything better. the worst clubhouse I have ever had,and the boneless chicken wings on special on Monday are chicken strips...Saturday tried the maple glazed salmon appy-not what I expected and not very easy to assemble. Lunch partner said the burger was ok,fries were awful. dont expect the food to match the atmosphere.

Woody's on Brunette Pub935 Brunette Avenue, Coquitlam
Pub food,who knew?

My Chowhound friend and I went to Woody's today for lunch. I dont like eating w.my friend just anywhere as just stated she is a diehard Chowhound blogger and participant. We chose Woody's close to a venue we were attending. For a rain Saturday afternoon,it was busy but we got a seat and our waitress was very genuine. She gave good recommendations on the food. I had the Tequila chili prawns and my friend had the short rib sandwich. Both dishes were very good,my friend actually liked her sandwich so much she wished she'd ordered the ful dinner. good clean place, food was much better than expected. Sure they have standard pub fare, but the prawns, short rib sandwich, and specials of hoisin chicken lettuce wraps and halibut bites were more than I usually find on the standard fare pubs. Waitress said burgers were great and salads ample, looking at the table beside me I believe her. Sure, little pricier than some places, but I feel you get what you pay for.

We went back for lunch today for the first time since they changed the format. For anyone who hasnt been there, keep in mind that it is a smaller space with that shares the same space with a car detailing shop(think diners drive ins and dives). its homey, you arent paying for the ambience. the food today was consistent and was up to my expectations from the last time I had been-I had a cilantro burrito that was so big, I have more than enough left over for a full dinner tonight! I added a rice side for 1.25 that really I didnt need. Food was good, fresh and at $9.00, not very expensive. My lunch partner had a $4.00 tacquito that he said was very fresh and filling.
Service was slower, but with only once cook and one server on I understand. Big takeout business, but if you think you are going to just pop in to get something to go,think again. Id call ahead for sure.
This place puts me in mind of a stop in,have a beer or two and a taco and leave stop like you get in Mexico as opposed to the full dinner experience. If you are coming back from a walk on the dykes or a day at the lake I would recommend this place completely!
