We live in the neighborhood of this small restaurant. Decided to try it a couple of years ago and have come back often. We have tried most items on the menu and they are all awesome. So far it has been a great experience for us with great food. Try real sushi, real tempura and real gyoza, you won't be disappointed. Everything is prepared with care.

I was a huge fan of Hon's and ate quite regularly at Robson's, Chinatown and Richmond's locations for several years. We stopped eating there for awhile because we moved to Ricmond and wanted to try some other restaurants.
That is until this week. We ate there for lunch in the beginning of the week. Had lunch special with soup, rice and one item. The thick soup looked ok but had no taste in it. The tofu and vegetables dish had gluey sauce and yes no taste either. We had a chinese donut that was greasy and tough as sandal. We were so surprised that the food was so different than the ones we had known that we had to try it again for dinner.
Yesterday we went there and ordered the chicken chow mein. We thought it would be the safest bet there. Yet we found it to be bland, gooey and pretty nasty. My husband said it was one of the worst chow mein he had ever tasted. That says a lot because he was an even bigger fan of Hon's than me. What happened??? I think they should focus back on the food rather than these promotions, bubble teas and other things that were not what made them special to begin with.
