I too live a few blocks away from Soho and want to have a cool, successful hangout in the neighborhood. So my husband and I were waiting for the opening weekend to go check it out. If my memory serves me correctly their opening was delayed but we go check it out the first weekend they were open.
Our waitress seemed disinterested in doing her job. We had to ask is there were any grand opening specials, she abruptly replied "NO".
I ordered a margarita to drink, she brings the unmixed drink to me she says sorry we don't have a blender yet.......don't you think you would notify someone of that before you bring the drink apologizing. We then order the food. Again an overpriced appy platter, which was nothing to rave about. But my husbands sandwich was a whole other story, they only had white bread to offer. The ham and cheese sandwich was small and pathetic looking so unappealing. I could have thrown the same sandwich together at home in 30 seconds that would have looked better than that.
I since have been again for breakfast which was a great meal, not very good service and there was not a single person in the restaurant at 10:30am except for us.
I was really rooting for them, I hope they get their act together before they follow suite with the Rain!!!!

It is to my dismay that I have to admit to eating several times at Tataya Sushi in North Burnaby. The first few times we thought cheap food but decent. As time progressed so did my disgust with the restaurant. After visiting it a few times the sushi dishes turned to Styrofoam plates, cups, bowls.........I told my husband right away I bet they got in trouble for not washing the dishes. The next time I went I witnessed the bucked tooth owner who makes the sushi, walk out side (touching a door knob), have a smoke, come back in (touching the door knob again), then go right back to making sushi with his bare unwashed butt fingers....SICK!!!.
Needless to say I never went back, I later found the restaurant on the net being closed down by the health board for no running hot water. So the whole time they were serving on dishes they were just rinsing them under cold water. Which brings me to my last disgusting fact that I forgot to mention earlier. My husband went for dinner and was served a cup of tea, he turned the cup around and found lipstick on the cup.........he was dining with another man!!!!
Don't be fooled by the cheap price.
