Old Spaghetti Factory50 8th Street, New Westminster
Worst Spaghetti Ever
Submitted Sunday, February 24, 2008 - 6:43pm [Dine in]

I've been to to OSF Richmond, Calgary, Gastown, and New West. Although the quality of the entire chain is poor, new west ranks as the worst. My last (and final) visit , I ordered regular spaghetti. It was my impression that spaghetti and pasta in general is hard to mess up. Restaurants make huge margins on pasta as their cost is dirt cheap. The sauce essentially came from a watery can of plain tomato sauce, absolutely no flavour. Even the spaghetti noodles themselves were soggy and of poor quality. The entire dish was luke warm at most. Garlic toast was burnt. Service was terrible. When I was paying, the manager asked me how everything was. I told him it was the same old crappy spaghetti factory quality. His response "can't expect much from us man". I have no idea why people continue to go here..

Went for dine out last night. Had the salmon & corn chowder for appy, salmon for entre and apple and rubarb crisp for desert. Food was very flavourful and portion size was adequate. Service was good considering the place was packed.

Good Eatings

I go to this place whenever I don't bring lunch. I usually have on the Vietnamese Sandwiches. I wish I could find the baguettes they use, so fresh and crispy! The cold cut or spicy meatballs is really good and for only $3.50 you can't go wrong. Staff is always friendly and they remember each time not to put cilantro in my sandwiches without me asking. They're soup and curry are also very good. This is one of the few good bistros on SE marine dr.

As expected, when I went to lunch there with my dad, the place was filled with businessmen. We were from out of town at the time, on vacation, and because we weren't dressed in business suits, they (waitresses) treated us with disrespect. I ordered steak and fries. The steak wasn't anything to rave about, and heck, the fries were horrible. The atmosphere is gloomy. Way too expensive. I wouldn't mind if the food lived up to the price but it didn't come close. The Keg's food, atmosphere, and service far surpasses the 'luxury' of this restaurant.

Not by choice, I've been to this retaurant three times, always choosing the all you can eat option. The sushi isn't anything wonderful, the waitresses are usually bitchy. Don't order too much or they might charge you extra for 'wasting' food.
