Over Christmas I ran into this subway for lunch for the family.
One sub ordered was a simple 6" ham and cheese on white, not toasted.
When asked what I wanted on it she got everything wrong. When she put pepper (instead of salt) on it she rolled her eyes and in an annoyed voice said "it's only a bit". I explained that my 5 year old wouldn't eat it so she scrapped it off with a napkin! I again asked for salt, she added PEPPER AGAIN! Again she tried to use the napkin on it. I asked for new cheese (as the pepper was mainly on the cheese). Annoyed, she ripped the cheese off and threw it away. I then asked for a bit of mayo on it and she put mustard. Repeat same scenario as above. (sigh).

We frequent Hirame, mainly for it's convenient location in Brookswood. The food is excellent and the prices decent. The service, however, has been going downhill fast. Twice in the past 3 months we've LEFT because we've waited so long to even be acknowledged, let alone seated. I'm talking waiting 10 minutes with our two young children while they walk past you without even saying "one moment".
Another annoyance I have with Hirame is that when we order they bring our kids' food last every single time. There's been times when we have been close to finished our meals before our son's cali roll has even come (and yes, I've specified which is his when ordering).
Overall, its good food but when I have the time I drive to our fav. sushi joint in Langley, I do!
