Good beef, slow service.
Submitted Friday, April 17, 2009 - 4:42pm [Dine in]

Went here for a friend's birthday. Easy to find location, right across from Aberdeen and a bus loop. The restaurant looks spacious and new and you can smell the bbq as soon as you step in the door. Owned by koreans, always a better sign. The beef/chicken/ribs/pork belly were good. They claimed to only serve Alberta AAA beef and their marinate sauce was a perfect compliment to it. The side dishes were mediocre, but the service was the worst thing about the restaurant. Incredibly slow. Takes about 30 - 45 minutes for our orders to come and you have to beg them for water. But if you plan your order, you'd be satisfied by the end of the night.
Lunch & late-night price: $13.
Dinner: $20.

Korean bakery? YUMM!
Submitted Friday, April 17, 2009 - 4:38pm [Dine in]

I keep coming back to this bakery for their honey balloon bun, which looks pretty big but hollow inside. I always like the crust of a bread more than the bread itself, so this bun is perfect for me! There's a little honey glazed inside it, enough to satisfy a little sweet craving. I have also tried the napoleon bar (they have a specific name for it but i can't seem to recall, it's like 5 little bars placed in a styrofoam, wrapped in plastic). The owner/manager and baker were really nice in explaining what things are and what they taste like. They have cute birthday cakes too, way nicer than the regular cream/fruit chinese combo.

Well recommended restaurant when you're tight on budget and as hungry as a hungry man! The portion is massive and the quality is decent. It is owned by Korean and filled with Korean no matter what time of the day it is. That's certainly a great indication! I had the black bean noodle and Korean soft seafood soup noodle before, and both were marvelous especially for the price I paid. Come with a family or a big group of friends so you can order more and try different dishes.

yummy ramen <3
Submitted Sunday, November 23, 2008 - 2:03pm [Dine in]

I 've been to two of Vancouver's popular ramen place, Kintaro and Benkei, and Kenzo is certainly at par with them. The noodles were served abundantly and the soup is always tasty. my favourite is the spicy one, i think it's number 5 on the menu :)
The service was quite alright considering they only have 1 waitress on a busy weekend night, but she smiles all the time and check with us every now and then.

better than ice cream!
Submitted Friday, August 15, 2008 - 3:04pm [Dine in]

I loooooove yogen fruz. Not only because of it's healthy yogurt, but also of the taste and the new design! I remembered few years ago there are only a few people lining up for it, but now, the line up has grown long! Mainly because of the new fresh look and also the variety it provides as a healthy substitution. I love the new matcha yogen with blackberries! With yogen, I'm 100% willing to substitute my sinful ice cream to this healthy "ice cream"!

top tofu soup!
Submitted Friday, August 8, 2008 - 10:41pm [Dine in]

I went here today with my mom after reading some reviews from DineHere. The overall experience was decent, the complimentary appetizers came right away and they were yummy. I wouldn't recommend the rice cake and the fried dumpling, they taste alright but not as good as the other ones I tried before. I had the regular tofu soup and my mom tried the kimchi stew. Both of them were great. The amount of tofu was decent, compared to the amount of beef they put in. The ambiance made us feel as if we're in Korea because of everyone who's working and eating there are koreans. But we were left confused why they left the stone pot with us but after reading more review, I guess the water they poured in was barley tea eh? Will definitely come back again in the future.

We're a patron to this little restaurant for a few years now and their food have been solid! I have tried many different thai restaurants (Sawasdee, Royal Thai, Green Basil, etc.) but none of them can beat their pad thai! The price is standard (pricey but standard for a thai dish) and the portion might seem small, but the taste is perfect. The owner is always there and is always courteous.

Decent but not romantic

My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant based on a suggestion made by his friend. The food was decent and its aunthenticity is unmistakeable. However, it wasnt as awesome as Guu nor Hapa Izakaya. And it's pricey too. But the service was excellent.

Despite all the bad reviews that are listed here, my boyfriend and I still went there to check the place out. The food was good and fast, the sushi rolls are pretty big and the sashimi is alright. The service was pretty good too since the waitress kept checking and pouring tea for us and even changed our plate. (We went on a busy saturday night). However, the price is a bit pricey for us, $23 and we ended up being way too full. But I would recommend to all big eaters out there.
