(2.7) (2.5) (2.6) (2.7) (2.9)We accidentally found this Victoria hidden gem of a unique eatery .A long line up convinced us to try a chipotle shrimp tacone,salmon & chips,samon talcone and the seafood special of the day plus drinks. What a great meal on warm May afternoon.The line up was 25 people ,but wait of 20 mins.was will worth it. We were sitting down on small upside down buckets with galvanized tables within another 10 mins. Cost of the meal for 4 adults and 2 kids was $60.00.Will go every time we are in Victoria, SHUSH don't tell anyone.
What a treat in an industrial part of Langley /Walnut Grove . Well worth the drive , Clean establishment . very pleasant wait staff {Shannon}.
Ordered the house Schintzel and Shannon recommended that I ask for less salt . Wonderful flavour , Veges over cooked, loved my meal .My wife ordered the roasted lamb and was a little disappointed , funny taste in her rice , veges over cooked,

What a disaster this time !
Firstly ...went to this restaurant when it first opened ,every thing was good to very good , BUT today {jan27/12 for lunch} What a let down ..
Hmmm where to start? OK dried catsup on the wall next to me , waitress that was very disinterested in us ,She couldn't get off the phone to greet us or show us to a table , just waved in the general direction of a almost empty restaurant . Menus that were grubby and falling a part . Cutlery that was dirty and given to our waitress { never replaced it} . Waved to get attention 3 times , but she ignored us and continued to set tables for afternoon shift . Never saw her again !
Finally another gal turned up with a honking big cold sore and took our orders .. Waited 20 minutes for meals to come and then one was WRONG . Groan, I hate that . When waitress came to ask if we wanted dessert, {she never came to ask how the meals where} I said my ribs where very tough and could not eat them , She gave me 50% off my meal BIG DEAL, gave her 6% tip only {rounded up to $40 bucks } . I wasn't going to leave anything . Bathrooms dirty

We have had lunch here in July and had a wonderful experience . Food was really good .
We thought we would try the evening dining .There was four of us and had a great window seat with a wonderful view . That was the only redeeming feature of the evening . We ordered a jug of beer and an appy . Beer took 3 minutes the appy 30 +minutes . I asked the waiter for his favourite meal and he suggested the Chicken pot pie . He did say it wasn't a big portion so I asked for a side of fries .Others placed theirs and then we waited , and waited. One hour later we got our meals . Mine was just warm and so watery I asked for a spoon and no fries . The three other's where equally cool to cold . I got mine replaced with a hotter version . The crust was so tough I could not cut it so pulled it apart and tried it , Can you say Cardboard box taste and texture . One steak meal was tough and incorrectly cooked , Chicken meal cold and tasteless , Fish and chips , fish way over cooked .All three had Yam fries were cold and small pieces and burnt. Waitered offered free desserts , We declined the desserts as we had to be at another venue ,he then presented the bill with a $15.00 reduction on a $120 bill.With a little discussion he reduced it again . What a disasterous experience .We are locals and eat out weekly ,and love to support our White Rock eateries . With so many restaurants to choose from these places need to get it right every time.
We have been to this local restaurant quite a few times and find the dining experience to be very pleasant each time . Lunch time menu $10 for 10 different items was very good. The bread basket was refilled as many times as you wished . The hostess and staff very attentive . White table cloth napkins ,quality dish ware and silverware makes this dining experience a cut above the competition .
This little mall restaurant has really gone down hill ,Lunches not bad ,however ,dinners have really deteriorated in quality, Dinner last night, Only 9 people in during the supper hour , One chair was wobbly and waiter stated "he couldn't fix chairs . No coaster wedges or exchange chairs .floor was sloped .
I had the rib special {$16} very fatty and sl.stale tasting ,Roasted potatos undercooked ,replaced with greasy over cooked ones . Table mates ordered the Schnitzle specials Way over cooked ,rubbery, greasy and tough .
Will never go back , Waiter uninterested in our comments .
Burger and fries and drink for $15. It better be excellent in every aspect . NOT excellent! I stated at the time of order I would be reviewing my meal on line and at these prices it better be memorable.
Staffing :- Very nice and professional
Food :- Burger slighty pink , Should have returned .They stated all burgers are only cooked well done
Loved the ability to load burger with a dozen garnishes . I over did it and it was a mess. My fault.
Fries . mediocre at best , Peanut oil had been saponified/over heated and you could smell it upon entering .Consequently the fries had been discoloured and tasted off . Someone had over heated the oil and killed it . MUST CLEAN AND CHANGE OIL in Fryer.
This a new venture and they have a learning curve that will have to improve the get a following in South Surrey.

I have been here 7 times {lunch and suppers}. We have always left satisfied , quality ingredients plus quality Chefs and management makes for a very successful eatery .
Staff is attentive , portions are generous and prices are more than fare .
Decor is very dated and tired .
Not a high end restaurant but satisfies my needs .
LUNCH TIME ..Dirty dining room, dirtier kitchen,dirtiest patio/home made deck ever , untidy tables,Left over food in the cracks in the floor , kitchen cracked lino , filth behind stoves . Floors in main dining area is sticky from dropped food and drink

Nice atmosphere ,very clean ,nicely attired wait staff.
Steak Oscar [$21.00] was perfectly prepared .Plenty of shrimp and crab meat . Waitress had to be called back as she failed to enquire on how to tell the chef to do steak. Steak and Veges done perfectly.{8/10}
Baby Back ribs [$18] ribs tough,v. little meat ,tasty bourbon sauce ,veges done perfectly but very small portion.{3/10}
When waitress asked how we were enjoying meal {my comment "JUST OK "}, she didn't hear my comments as she appeared distracted by other bar patrons .
So in horsey talk "win .place or show" --one winner and one nag that had no business being in the race . Will give it another chance ,but with so many places to dine in south Surrey it has only one more chance to redeem it's self.
What a disappointment!This establishment on first entering gave false hope of a dining experience that one could tell friends about.Atmosphere actually very nice [an authentic English restaurant right out of the 50's]Our waitress was quite helpful in the meal selection.My wife had the Roast beef and all the fixings and I had the steak and mushroom pie.[$16.95 and $15.95 resp]. Mel arrived and the dining experience plummeted to an all time low for us. R.beef way over cooked and old and stringy and lots of grissel, Gravy lumpy ,overly salty and out of a Swanson pre- packaged gravy pouch. Veges v. tired and rubbery ,Yorkshire pudding was made several days before ,frozen and microwaved . My steak and mushroom pie came inverted on the plate and horrible brown gluppy stuff poured on it. Pastry slightly rancid ,no mushrooms ,excessive salt, roast potatoes made some time earlier in the day and nuked especially for me [ rubber texture and stale tasting] .Both meals inedible When waitress was advised about our poor quality she was not at all apologetic ,in fact she stated that it was completely not what ever came out of the kitchen .She wanted to replace the meal but since everything on our plates was horrible first go round we declined and asked for our bill. No tip ,No comp, should have walked out . Stay away and save your money .
