I Like The Place...
Submitted Sunday, November 29, 2009 - 5:10pm [Dine in]

I've come back several times and I always hope the food will be better than last time. It seems inconsistent, I've had great cheap food there, but I've also had some pretty poor meals. The servers are always very polite, maybe that's what makes me want to come back. The price's are low and the food is good more often then not. One thing I think about before deciding to go is how awkwardly quiet it is. It's strange but when ever I'm in there I'm very aware of this. Sometimes they play music and it makes it more comfortable, but it's a tiny speaker in the corner of the room so it doesn't help much. Anyways still a good place to go if your in the area.

Great Place for Low Priced Food
Submitted Sunday, November 29, 2009 - 4:55pm [Dine in]

Every time I've gone the food has been great and it seems like the portions have gotten bigger. They set it up so you stand in line and order at the counter and pay first, you have a seat and they bring the food out to you with little wait time. When your stuffed and happy you wander out the front door. Now that's a perfect set up for me. The food is around 5 bucks for a meal, there's lots of it, and it tastes great. The place is a little colourful cube with Singapore and Malay advertisements on the walls and a bar in front of the window to sit at. That comfortable spot to sit and look out onto the street raises the ambiance rating. It's especially nice in the summer when the windows are wide open. Anyways check it out if you haven't, I recommend the Nasi Goring.

Awful Buffet
Submitted Sunday, November 29, 2009 - 4:04pm [Dine in]

No greeting when we came in, server just stared at us, and we awkwardly stood around until she said something graceful like, 'uhhh do you want the buffet?'.The buffet had almost empty trays of food that looked like they had been sitting for a long time, luke warm, with no covers. The food was cold by the time we sat at the table and might have tasted good if it weren't so old. A new tray of chicken was brought out, and dumped over top of the old chicken.
Another table was asked how their food was to which they said it was cold, no one came to our table at all and I had to go out of my way to ask for a drink. It felt like we were being intrusive when we interacted with staff and weren't spoken to when we had to pay. I had to wait at the counter and was passed by multiple times with no acknowledgment, I don't mind if it's cause everyone's busy (didn't really seem like it), but at least a 'hey just give me a minute' is in order. When someone came to let me pay they weren't friendly, and didn't really say anything at all.
The price was cheap, $5.95 all you can eat, getting the bare minimum for what you pay and after the first plate you're not looking forward to a second.
The place looked nice and would have had a great relaxed atmosphere if it weren't for the two TV's playing really loudly. It was difficult to talk to one another so we stared at the screens and ate.
I felt compelled to write this review cause of the strange feeling in my stomach, thinking about what a bad experience this morning was. If you go there I cannot recommend the buffet. It's possible to do cheap food well, but this place really missed the mark.
