Very sleek, modern looking place. Beautiful décor. I’ve been a couple of times and service is great. The food…hmm, maybe it was just me and I picked the wrong dishes, but they weren’t anything outstanding. But I would look over at another table, a lot of Spanish speaking people, and whatever they were eating would look delicious. I might have to come back and try some different dishes.
Came here for lunch with a few friends. This is not the cheapest dim sum place around, but we definitely got our money’s worth. Prawns were huge in the dumplings…the lotus leaf-rice wrap was excellent. Pricier than I like to pay for dim sum, came to $80 (including tea and 20% tip) for the four of us. Had to flag servers down as the restaurant was busy, but everything we asked for we got, almost immediately. We left full, and everyone liked the food, so it was worth it.
I like the look of the restaurant, the servers are full of energy and funny. It’s a good place to come with a big group and have drinks and share plates. The food is solid, although it’s not my favourite izakaya where food is concerned, but I have no complaints. I think the atmosphere is what sets it apart, you can just come in here and have fun, talk and laugh, and enjoy interesting dishes.
This is a lovely little salad bar that most people probably wouldn’t know about unless they worked in the area. They have the usual selection of fresh veggies and fruits, but they also offer coffee, organic sandwiches and snacks, and some fresh-squeezed juices. I just love sitting in here, the atmosphere is very relaxing and pretty, and the people behind the counter are warm and talkative. They have art on the wall that is up for sale, as well as making the place nice with things like teacups, coffee mugs, pitchers and other kitchenware that they situate around the space. It’s an inviting little place.
I’ve been to a few of the more authentic Mexican places around town, but they tend to be sparse on the décor, to put it politely. So we’d heard some good things about Me and Julio and decided to try it. It’s a fun place, and it was really busy so it seems like it’s doing quite well. I think it has a bit of Cactus Club sort of vibe, with really pretty waitresses and lots of loud music, only they serve fusion Mexican food. Some of the food was quite good, but I don’t think it was quite what we were looking for in terms of atmosphere. Still, it had a good energy and quality food, and I think it might be a great place to hang out if you’re looking for that.
Walking into this restaurant is like being in Japan. It’s really a very beautiful, slightly traditional looking restaurant. A friend brought me by for lunch, and I’ve been back several. The lunch sets are a good value. I’ve tried the sashimi, and it was fresh enough, but nothing spectacular. I think the grilled food is the star. I’ve had the grilled mackerel and grilled cod. Both were delicious. I haven’t strayed from the fish so far, but I wouldn’t mind trying some chicken or beef next time. I found the service to be quite good, we always have reservations and are seated immediately. Our food comes quickly, and we’ve never a problem. Definitely an enjoyable experience.
A friend treated the four of us, and it was a beautiful view, great service.
The food was fine, my bison was almost rare, well-prepared. Ceasar salad had a delicious dressing, and our scallop appetizer was good. I think everyone else enjoyed their food, but it wasn't spectacular. Someone said you come more for the experience, the great view of the sunset, rather than the food. I agree. Everything about our food was fine, but I was not overly impressed with the meal.
I came here with a friend for lunch, and it was a great place inside. We split one savory and one sweet crepe. The savory was nice, it was a special buckwheat crepe with I think ham and brie cheese and mushrooms.
The dessert was my favorite, It had pears, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate sauce. I don't eat a lot of desserts, but this was great. I wish we had time for coffee but we had to get back to work.
