Well, I came here for the first time in the early 90's and I really don't remember what I had or how it was. My girlfriend took me here again after so many years for my birthday and boy, was it cheap and pretty good. I had the Pot Roast, it was good, nothing fancy and I had the salad buffet with it also. The dessert can be a bit better, not too bad, but I saw a pie out in the open that night on a cart, just sitting there, it should be covered or behind some glass so people that walk by don't sneeze or cough when going by.
Already in my reviews I always state that the people working anywhere, especially in the Food industry to tie their hair up and don't touch your face or hair. Not that I saw anything like this that night and oh, my friend told me she heard that the restaurant is the third place for being clean in the North Shore. I am happy to hear that.
The deco is ugly, the place does need reno's, it looks like the 80's still. Just as long as it's clean and the staff is clean.
The food is good. I had the Fish n' chips, burger, pasta dishes since I've been back this year. All cheap in price, which is great, considering no one has money these days.
All in All, try out this place, great for taking your mom and pop to. Good Food...Good Prices.....staff is pretty friendly. Service is ok. For the price you pay. Try this place out!
Well, here's the thing....I went there last night with some friends...no special reason just some dancing and dining. When I called about 2 weeks prior for a table for 4, then asking a few friends here and there, whoever wanted to come for a nice night out, it ended up being 5 of us.
The host was rude when I called during the day saying that it might be 2 more people at my table, the person I spoke to was rude and not friendly at all on the phone. He only said to call back with a for sure head count. I could not be on the phone all day and I did not have time to call Baci's back. So, when arrival I asked if possible for one more person. Again, rude and not friendly. When seated I noticed there was one or two tables available during our meal, by then it looked like there was more than 5 tables available.
The host made it sound like it was packed which I was telling my girlfriend to look around and tell me if it was my imagination. Which I was right. There was tables and the host made me feel like - - - -!! During the whole day when I talked early before and during the stay.
Food is alright, good prices, service can be nicer. The water girl was the best. Music is great....if you are into Ballroom dancing music and a little of English, Oldies and hard to request some Middle Eastern Music, I think the owner wants to keep it more Italian, which I am, but I really do enjoy listening to Middle Eastern Music also.
The owner of Baci's is Iranian so you can see where I am coming from when requesting some Iranian Music, and it looked like there was a bunch of ladies that would of appreciated it more.
I think we were waiting for Iranian Music more than anything, but I do enjoy all types of Music, especially the old Italian music (wedding music).
All in all, good food, good prices (especially because you stay there for the whole night), can be better and friendlier service and especially from the Host.
Must try place if you never tried it yet. You can request music, but you will hear mostly Spanish music.
I went there yesterday with my girlfriend and we splint a wrap and sandwich. I asked if they can panini grill it and it did not seem warm or tasty at all. I thought that the wrap was ok, I had better. Even if it does have Quinoa in it and it's good for you.
They need to have more selection on food items and to change the sandwiches, I don't know where they order from but the company needs to change that and just have a really good selection on the Entree items.
There was nothing in the case, maybe because we went around 2pm. No excuse.
Make the sands more hotter, leave it in the panini grill a little longer.
I didn't want to say anything about it at the time. Too much work then for the guy behind the counter.
Service was good, friendly girl that served and took my order.
The place is nice and sometimes I like dark places.
The Bean around the World on W. 10th Ave. West Point Grey area is a lot of food to choice from, a lot of selection, but it has been a while for me in 'Beans'.
All in All, pretty good service, warm the sands a little more, more more Selection on Sands!
Long wait for a table for 3 on a weeknight. Place is nice but the chairs are not comfortable, the whole place can be bigger. Very Preppy looking. Sort of Stuck-up, Snobby place.
I still like my Lombardo's Restaurant. Prices are ok on pizza, too much on the Antipasto but nice presentation.
Waiter was friendly and helpful. He suggested my pizza special. I should of gotten just the Margerita Pizza (just cheese).
All in all, not bad, try this place out once, but now it seems like Vancouver is opening up a lot of these pizza places with the wood brick oven (some not real wood, just gas ovens).
The owners should be Italian not another culture, only if you went to school for this and really know your pizza from Naples.
Just not too comfortable, a little too preppy. Can be a little more friendly. Just ok for me, please try this place though.
I have to say in all the years I have been going to Granville Island Market, Lee's Donuts have always been there and there is always a line-up.
I bought some donuts the other day which I haven't had them for years. I was going to go to Krispy Kremes but someone was saying that Lee's is so much better than them.
I bought a dozen donuts and they were really good. Tasty just like the old days. A little too pricey but it seems like everything is expensive nowadays right.
I like the fact that you can see the kitchen and it's in the open, you can watch them make them outside standing at the window. ( I have to see how clean the kitchen is and the people).
The girl behind the counter did have her long hair down when serving the donuts to me but then she did put her hair up, but please tie your hair up before hand.
Good delicious Donuts, must try place when in Granville Island Market!!!!
I went here after Greek Day on my way home. I thought...hey....I really want pizza from Nat's.....nice ambiance and OK service. The pizza is a little too pricey but you do get a big slice and the crust needs to be thicker and softer.
The one on Broadway is nicer looking than the one on Denman St. All in All not bad place....there is a lot of pizza places out there and I think Nat's is a little different, it's pretty good, got to try this place people!
I tried this place for the first time this year and I have to say that the burgers were great. I do like the fact they cook in front of you. So, you can see if they pick their nose or hair and we all know my friends, in all of my reviews, that's always a NO NO for me.
Service is nice and friendly, not the greatest but ok. The place just needs to be Renovated, it looks like it needs and smells like it too.
The prices are a bit too high, I can't believe how much they charge for a Hot Dog. The fries can be a little bigger but all in all, the food is very good.
The place Just needs a face lift!!
I went here late last night to get some pizza slices.....the pizza did not look so great and a little expensive...you can get cheaper by the slice on Commercial Drive.
Again, I seem to write this in all of my reviews.....please tie your long hair up and after handling money please wash your hands!!!
The pizza was too saucy but all in all not bad. Not like before when it was the original owners. My recommendations are order the whole pizza not by slices.
Nice and friendly service though.
I went there for the first time a few days ago with my girlfriend and first thing I thought of was....oh, no tables just stools....I am not a stool person, hard to sit hard.
Good service.....friendly....the guy at the cash register was telling us what sells and what's popular. The girl next to him had her long hair down and not tied up.
In all my reviews that's a NO NO. Please tie up the hair and wash your hands.
The hot dog was ok.....not really what I expected. I know they use good quality food items but I kind of like the taste better just at Costco....and it's cheaper.
My friend and I agreed on this first time visit!
First time there with my girlfriend and the Restaurant was hard to find, they need to trim some of those trees down so I can see the Pantry sign.
First thing when we went in the Hostess was more preoccupied counting receipts than finding us a table. Table was not clean enough, bottles (HP sauce) were open not twisted closed.
When ordering my coffee there was no small spoon given, I had to stir it with my knife. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich and my friend ordered the Breakfast, the pancakes that came with her order looked like someone took a big bite of it and there was some charred bits from the grill still on it also (GROSS).
She ordered her eggs medium but it came overcook and rubbery. My pulled pork dish was not that great also, when ordering more "endless fries" the waitress gave me an "annoyed" look and it made me feel crappy.
Waitress was extremely slow with drink refills and service!!!
Take our advice.......don't go there!!!!!
Good looking place....the only thing I don't like in this place is it's too Dark. How do people bake in the Dark??
I need to see if there is any hair or anything else when I bake or cook.
The prices are very expensive.... I can't believe how much a slice of pie is. I can make better pies Homemade.
Nice ambiance... a little too small of a place.....when it gets busy, the line up can be nuts.
Service is ok, not the greatest, can be a little cheaper and brighter!
Being Italian, I thought,ok, they are opening up a Bigger Bosa, looks like a Costco store from the outside, inside was ok. I thought they could of made it bigger and more bulk just like Costco. The Ceramic plates and other kitchen things could be in a bigger aisle. Talking about Aisles, it reminds me of the Old Bosa on Victoria Drive, too small, can't even move in these stores. Excuse me, oh, sorry, Excuse me!!!! Service at the Meat counter could be nicer and friendly (one lady with dark hair is nice) The Deli counter could use some plastic gloves, I hate when Deli's don't use gloves, it's really gross!!! Don't know if their hands are really clean when touching the Cold Cuts. The Panini Counter to get sands, coffee, so on are very rude girls. Service sucks big time here. Cashiers are a little stuck up also (just because your Italian) well, I don't think so. Be careful, they don't accept any Credit cards, I believe. Bring cash with you. Over all food quality is not that great, I once bought this cheese and it cost too much and it was moldy when I got home, too late to go back (no, it was not blue cheese,it was something like Gouda cheese from behind the Deli counter). Sorry, Bossy Foods.
I found this place because of my Uncle with his small plane, the place used to be called Pie in the Sky (I believe) and it's been a while for me last time I was there. Great Home-made Salad dressings, I had the Reuben Sandwich, it was good. Of course, you have to try the Home-made pies-- Delicious!! Must try place when in Chilliwack!!!
I heard about this place from someone who works locally around there years ago. When I finally tried out this place one day with two other girlfriends, I found the place in a weird building not knowing it was there the Restaurant. (I think it's a French School or something)
Too small but nice and it can be a little more bigger the place. We sat outside usually I am not a outside kind of person, but there was no tables inside to be seated for 3 people.
The food was good, I had the Stuffed Ravioli, my friends had the Sandwiches and soup, it was all nice. The service is good, but one of my girlfriend returned with her hubby and she said the Service was not good, the server was snobby and commented on something.
Prices can be a little cheaper. Good food. Make the place bigger.
I tried this place not too long ago for the first time and I am not a Vegan. I wanted the Samosas there, I heard lots about them. Not too bad, I heard long ago they were a lot bigger and cheaper of course. I started going after 8pm (20% off the Samosas) in the Rest. part to get them and still it's why too expensive. I ordered a salad and a Veggie Roll to go along with them and I have to say that the Salad (Quinoa??) was not that great tasting and too expensive. I had this salad made the same way somewhere else (Silks Cafe) and it tasted why better than at Sweet C.
Service is NOT is not that great!!! NO smiling and slow. Confusing Menu for me (I don't know about other people) and too Expensive, like I said before in my reports, everything is going up more, fuel, food, etc, etc....
But do try the Samosas they are not bad at all!!
I thought, ok, this place looks nice from the outside, good name and oh, Tony Parsons co owns it, ok, big deal, what is it all about?? Being Italian myself I know the menu. First time I went back when it opened, I ordered the Antipasto, big and good valve for what you pay for. Second time, we ordered the Antipasto they cut down, not as much and too expensive for just 2 slices of Prosciutto and some crumble Reggiano??cheese, no big deal. Not too impressed with it so far, then I ordered the Pasta dish with Carbonara sauce, not too bad, too Al Dente. Second time I went there, I ordered the Gnocchi with Meat sauce, not bad, still too pricey for just Potato Dumplings. I know everything is Hand-Made, but come on People are you charging too much for that or because Tony Parsons name is on it???
Good Service, can be a little more not so stuck up, but all in all, it's too expensive and it's in the East End of town, not putting it down, I am from the East End myself. Like I said, everything is Home-Made so that's good but just too pricey, that's all.
Especially now with prices going up in groceries, fuel, etc, etc, etc.......
