(3.8) (4) (3.1) (3.8) (3.5)My sisters and niece were in Vancouver for a visit. We got to Vij's at 6pm and there was already a big wait. We didn't mind soaking the late afternoon sun and the service was very gracious that the wait didn't seem that terrible. They were serving us complimentary appetizers. All very good!! We would be excited every time the server came out with something different to try. When we got our table we weren't grumpy from the wait and had a very pleasant dinner. Lamb popsicle was amazing. Believe the hype :)
Too bad it was our last hour in Tofino that we discovered this spot. Now, I will always be craving for their fresh and perfectly grilled tuna burger. The fries were really good too. I wish I could sit back and enjoy the relax afternoon vibe, but we had the burger to go and catch the ferry. This is now one of my favourite and a definite go-to place to eat.
I stayed at the Pointe in Wickaninnish Inn and the staff recommended to have reservation at the Pointe Restaurant. It is the most romantic restaurant in the west coast! My description will be understated so it is worth dining there and experience the ocean-view and sunset. I will be back next summer and I hope they will still serve their sea salt caramel topped with pecan.
We went there for lunch and dinner. Both occasions we had rude welcome from the hostesses. We were deciding where to sit (shade or not) and the afternoon hostess told us that she doesn't care where we sit in an abrupt manner. We had very friendly waitress and waiter though. Went back for dinner because a) the appetizers were very very delicious, b) we won't experience the lake/roadside ambiance in the city and c) maybe the hostess was just having a bad day. Dinner hostess was just as bad. We had to wait for her to finish chatting with another guest for 4 mins before getting any acknowledgement. It was the manner they delivered their rudeness that we wouldn't consider going back ever.
Delicious food and great sake. I would give a high rating but my purse was stolen and the staff weren't sincerely concerned. Service wasn't good to begin with... purse stolen or not. You'd think it's a decent place and should be more secure but... somehow a lowlife needed the cash and bad karma.
Beyond satisfying food! Excellent service. Super friendly and professional staff. Superb service (very rare these days). I love their lamb and mussel. And their ganache, purely delicious! To me, their superstar dessert is the Creme Brulee... heavenly!
Food was so-so... I always order their hot and sour soup, calamares and yellow curry for the "All you can eat" brunch. But man is their service the worst. The waitresses are a bunch of B****! They are beyond rude and unprofessional. They ALWAYS ALWAYS get tables and orders mixed up. Rude and dumb huh. Get the waiter to service your table.
