Great food on Davie!

Went to Mango Thai today and it was awesome! I have been to many Thai resturants and this one has amazing quality food and great prices! We decided to order a couple different dishes to try, so we went with some Thai staples like Pad Thai, fried rice and spicy chicken skewers(cannot remember the name) and all the food was amazing. Perfectly spicy and you could taste all the different flavours and spices that were used. Although we live in Surrey, we will definitely be going back and taking friends!

So my Husband and I visited this restaurant earlier in the week because the previous reviews seems great.

First of all we arrived there and had reservations for the two of us but it wasn't busy at all. We were sat at a single table with one seat alone the bench wall and the other in a chair(chairs were super uncomfortable) right in the middle of a long line of tables. This surprised me when she told us it was our seat because there were tons of booths free(which all had 2 place settings) because the place was pretty much empty.

At the first look at the menu it seemed very limited, but I figured with how limited the menu was it would be very good because the restaurant is trying to impress with the dishes they had. We ordered a caeser salad to share, which was really nothing better then what you could get at a commercial diner (If you want an outstanding caeser salad go to the Old Surrey Inn). For mains my Husband had the Steak which was seared on the grill too long on one side and tasted burnt with black pieces on it, he had ordered medium rare, it also came with french fries. I don't care if you dress them in garlic and seasoning, they are still french fries and just a steak and fries for $28 is ridiculous .

I had the scallops. They were huge but were rubbery and seemed a bit under cooked. They presented them on a bed of what they called "crunchy chow mein noodles" but really it was really over cooked noodles under the scallops and balls of undercooked (or sat out to long) as the garnish. But the sauce did taste good, but again for $29 not worth it. The person delivering the food stood with our dishes for about 5 minutes which she chatted up the host which could have help the results of my cold and rubbery scallops.

I do have to say that the bread served was very delicious and the service itself from our waiter was good. Kept our drinks refilled all night.

And to top it all off, we went to this restaurant from the recommendation of the previous reviewer stating there was a "dessert bar" but there was not. They had a menu and it was 5 different desserts which had no flair or creativity to them.

We will not be returning.

Best Pub in Surrey By Far!
Submitted Tuesday, May 5, 2009 - 11:34am [Dine in]

We have been going here for about 6 years and have been to every pub in Surrey and many across BC and I have to say for the money/food value this is the best pub by far!

The food is great and for the price (everything under $10 on the menu) its worth it! Drinks are also decently priced compared to other pubs.

Make sure if you go on game nights or on special likes (like wings, steak or beef ribs) that you get there early or you can be waiting up to 30 minutes for a seat. I really with they would remove the patio or at least make it non smoking all together so that they free up tons of more space for seating. Only downside is that the pub is fairly small for the large number of clientele that frequent the pub.

Also best wings compared to any resturant/pub/takeout you can find!

So we've been here a couple times with different grps of people and the first time the food was awesome and "different" kinds of meats were served, like ostrich. The second time around there was more common meats but still good.

The salad bar is really good but don't fill up on it because you will have the option to have enough meat to fill you. Dinner is a bit pricey @ $32.00 a person for the all you can eat meat choice but I have heard the lunch is a lot better priced and just as good.

Only downside I found is that some of the meat is pretty salty and some very greasy so make sure to get a glass of water to wash the different tastes out of your mouth.

I would go back.

Good Authentic Mexican!
Submitted Wednesday, April 8, 2009 - 4:42pm [Dine in]

We have been to many Mexican restaurants in the lower mainland and been to Mexico many times and we are very pleased with the food at this restaurant.

The mole poblano sauce is the best I have had outside of Mexico and the portions are decent.

The service is very good except for when you are trying to leave! The two times we went there the service was awesome until we wanted out bill and then it pretty much slowed to a halt. The one time we were there an extra 20 minutes trying to get our bill and pay. Also the trek to the washrooms are less than desirable. Other then those two down sides the restaurant is great!
