Authentic Mexican food

Great little place for lunch, business was brisk while we were there for both eat in and take out. Ambiance is basic with a few tables and you place your order at the counter as well as pick up your food, it would be a very casual place for dinner. Value is very good just check out their menu on line. Service was very friendly and quick taking time to answer any questions. Food was very good, they have a wide selection of Tortas, Tacos, Quesadillas and Burritos I had some tacos (Carne Asada, Chorizo and Pollo Asada) which come on soft corn tortillas and all were very tasty, and they have a nice selection of hot sauces to choose from as well. To drink I had a Mexican Coca Cola which is made with cane sugar, not sure if I could tell the difference as I do not normally drink Coke but I did enjoy drinking it out of the classic glass bottle. I will definitely be back as there is plenty more dishes I would like to try.

Great lunch spot
Submitted Friday, February 8, 2013 - 2:29pm [Dine in]

Just got back from lunch and I am stuffed. Had the lunch special Cashew Nut Chicken which is always very good, comes with a spring roll which was just OK. Beef on Crispy Noodle and Chili Fried Rice are also very good, their Pad Thai is obviously western style as yes this is not an authentic Thai food restaurant, Chinese/Thai is more like it. The portions are big over all and the food comes hot and quick. Service is fine, language is only a minor issue, as I have never had a problem. Excellent value for the money at lunch, their dinner menu looks very reasonable as well. Ambiance is where this place lacks, not so much for lunch as I don’t expect much but I’m not sure whether I would want to eat in for dinner as it has the feel of a diner/take out joint.

Solid Sushi

I go here for lunch all the time and keep coming back. The service is great and the food is served quickly and is consistently good. The Bento boxes are always a good choice, I also like the Sushi and Spicy Sashimi with Avocado, but it’s all good. They have raised their prices over the last couple of years but I think it is still a good deal for what you get and for the neighbourhood they are in. It can get a bit busy during lunch as there is a private school nearby and the kids like their Japanese food. The restaurant is clean and updated and has ample seating as well as a sushi bar if you like to watch them do their thing. I think I will give them a call right now for some Chicken Teriyaki Don for pick up.

I like Thai

I have been here several times for lunch and have had good food and good service each time. They have some nice lunch specials with Pad Thai being one of my favourites, it is the authentic Tamarind based type and looks great on the plate and tastes even better. The Pad Pik King Chicken is also very good and I have a tough time deciding between these two. The price is right for the food you get, but don't expect much in the way of ambiance, the food/flavour is what keeps me coming back.
