Male waiter ruined the experience
Submitted Tuesday, May 18, 2010 - 10:13pm [Dine in]

As a resident in Cambie Village, I like to support the nearby businesses. I find the food at Spices to be generally decent, except for their Vietnamese subs. On my last visit, I ordered a shredded pork vietnamese sub after craving it all day! To my surprise, there was no meat in there at all. I pointed this out to the male waiter that I think the pork might've been left out in the sandwich, and he grimaced and explained that it IS there *pointing at the stringy daikon* I then took the daikon out from the sub and told him this isn't pork. He then told me that I was thinking of the grilled pork sub, and this was a shredded pork sub. Pretty much fuming at this point at him avoiding the question, I decided it just wasn't worth it. Paid for the sandwich sans tips and left.

I liked the place, but not after that experience. Too bad. The female owner is really sweet.

Meh waitresses & funny tasting water
Submitted Sunday, May 31, 2009 - 11:48pm [Dine in]

I'll start by saying that I really wanted to like this place. I'm a big fan of the Cambie Village area and wanted to support the business in the 'hood. Sadly, I was disappointed by (un)Stella's service and just OK food. The waitress came by, with a 'this is such a chore' attitude set the tone for our evening. We didn't get our beers until 15 minutes after we ordered them (restaurant wasn't busy, beers were on tap) Our glasses were just sitting there while the bartender was doing not too much. Our drinks and food came, no complaints there. After 45 minutes our waitress comes by with the bill. We weren't even done our drinks! There were no lineups and the restaurant was far from being full. I wasn't impressed. AT ALL.

It's such a shame because Stella's would've been our regular pub if the experience didn't suck so much.

Bad sushi, even worse service
Submitted Thursday, January 22, 2009 - 12:23am [Dine in]

Kitsilano Sushi is Chinese run, and being Chinese, service is generally non existent. They'll glare at you, throw food at your table, and give you a look as if to tell you they couldn't care less if you ate here or not.

Food was not authentic. Sushi rice was on the cold side, and the seaweed tasted a bit chewy (it's been sitting out).

Haivng said that, I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Great service, great food!
Submitted Wednesday, February 6, 2008 - 1:26am [Dine in]

I had a pleasant time dining at Dadeo's. The food was great and the environment was lively. I hear there will be live music. If they extend t heir hours pass 10pm, that'd be awesome for a late night drink. I will definitely return and try other things on the menu.

Could there possibly be worst customer service? I think not.
Submitted Monday, January 28, 2008 - 10:54pm [Dine in]

I used to really enjoying coming to Cafe Crepe, being a big fan of crepes! But in the past while, I find myself going there less and less due to the non-existent customer service.

I took a friend there today, and it took them 15 minutes to come by. Getting their attention is like a game...they seem to love standing at the corner chatting than glancing over at anyone. When we finally caught their attention and told them we were ready to order, they disappeared. YES, DISAPPEARED!

I vow never again to go there, and will happily spread the word.

Way to go Cafe Crepe management.

Horrible service
Submitted Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 2:54pm [Dine in]

Regardless of its delicious food, I will think twice about going back to Subeez after the horrible service I just experienced.

The waitresses were impatient, snappy and down right RUDE,

The minute we walked in the door, my group was snapped at for not making reservations. The service was decent throughout the meal. While we went to pay, we stood by the counter for a good 10 minutes until we decided to wave a waitress over (who just avoided us). Then we were lectured about how we should have asked for separate bills if some of us wanted to pay by credit card. That is a reasonable request, but the type of treatment was uncalled for. The most unnerving thing was when the waitress barked at my friend for speaking while she was calculating the bills. "I can't do so many things at once, okay??" HORRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE.

I think they've just made an unregular out of this regular visitor.
