Ra Sushi20330 88 Avenue, Langley
Once again, great sushi.
Submitted Saturday, October 24, 2009 - 10:06pm [Dine in]

My family and I went to Ra Sushi before going to see a movie, and we had a great experience. The service was quick, because they knew we were in a rush, and the sushi was good. We got two orders of the imitation crab california rolls, (Real crab=not as much and higher price) the dynamite rolls, the spider rolls, the spicy vegetable rolls, the vegetable tempura and miso soup. These rolls were very simple but they were very good. The spicy rolls were excellent once again, the spider rolls were great and the california and dynamite rolls were simple, yet good. The vegetable tempura was great, aspecially the deep fried yams, and the miso soup was good. The server was nice and patient, and the bill was not too big. For the first time, I have eaten in here, I would say it is a pretty good place.

Good gelato, horrible sevice
Submitted Saturday, October 10, 2009 - 2:28pm [Dine in]

My family and I like to go on walks and bike rides along the fort to fort trail and come here for some gelato. The prices are cheap and the gelato is good. However, the service is not as good. We were on a late walk and we made it to the store ten minutes before it closed. We thought that ten minutes would be enough time to choose our flavours and it was. We had been in for two minutes deciding and were almost done, when an annoying voice from behind the counter said,"Hurry up and choose your flavours, I want to go home." We looked up and it was coming from the teenage worker. Obviously it was outragious that she had said that because it was still eight minutes before closing time. We decided to let that comment go, but thirty seconds later, a couple came by the store and opened the door. They didn't have time to step inside when the worker told them that they were closing in eight minutes and that my family and I were the last customers. My thoughts are that if she weren't working by herself or the owner were there, her behaviour would have been different. After she denied the couple, she told us to lock the door, so it was closed from the outside. We also thought this was rude because she works there and she should have to do that. When she said that, we stormed out the door and went to McDonald's. We have eaten gelato there a couple times since that incident and have never seen her there. I am happy to say the service has been a bit better since. I just wish they would be a bit more outgoing.

Luxe Chinese Seafood Restaurant19653 Willowbrook Drive, #138A, Langley
A unique dining experience
Submitted Friday, October 9, 2009 - 10:08pm [Dine in]

We went to Luxe today with a party of seven. We were seated promptly and the waiters were very nice. Complimentary tea was given to us at the beginning, so we sat down and relaxed while waiting to order. We ordered several dishes to share and the dishes came one after another. The first dish that came was pork, and I am a vegetarian, but I felt that since I am reviewing, I should try it. The pork was delicious and was gone pretty quickly. After the pork game the prawns with black beans and vegetables. What the menu should have said was vegetables with prawns and black beans because there was a mountain of veggies with some prawns and a little beans. The vegetables were great. The sauce tasted really good and it was very enjoyable. We ordered the prawns stir-fried instead of deep-fried and I regret it. Although, they were good, the prawns would have tasted better deep fried. When I first saw the dish, I thought the prawns were cauliflower because of the shape. I am a non-strict vegetarian, so I took place in the fish eating. After, the prawns, a dish came with vegetables, squid, and shrimp, scallops. The shrimp was good, the squid was okay, and I don't even think the scallops were there. The vegetables were different types from the ones in the previous dish, so they tasted different. After, the seafood dish, we had sweet and sour pork. It was good even though I only had one piece because I am a vegetarian. During all this food, the waiters were really nice. We seemed to have three waiters all focused on our table. They were great and they told jokes. Anyway, we finished off the dinner with chowmein, rice, and a hot and sour soup for myself. The soup was loaded with shrimp and all kinds of things, but the broth tasted funny so I only took a couple of bites. We ordered the chowmein crunchy and that was a mistake because nobody liked it. The rice was so good though because it had egg and vegetables and it was so fresh. All the stuff that I just said was basically our dinner
After the dinner, the waiter surprised me by giving me some cookies and deserts with a birthday candle in it. After all it was my birthday, so I blew out my candle graciously and ate the cookies with some of the complimentary tea. I was very surprised at the service and ambiance. It is a hole in the wall of the outside but beutiful on the inside. The service was great too. Overall, I liked parts of this dinner and didn't like parts. Some dishes were 4/5 and some were 2/5. Also, there was some pretty weird things on the menu like the shark fin soup which I was not daring enough to try. So, in the end, I would reccomend this restaurant to people who are willing to spend money on things that they are not sure that they will like. I liked this restaurant because it was SUPER FRESH and very authentic. Luxe has to be the freshest chinese food that I have ever tasted.

Milestone's Grill and Bar20075 Langley Bypass, Langley
Better the second time around
Submitted Friday, October 9, 2009 - 4:37pm [Dine in]

I went to milestones again after my first review and was surprised that I liked the food a lot more. I had the spinach, tomato, and feta cappelini and it was pretty good. The portion was not huge, so I didn't sit there stuffing myself but after, I was finished the meal, I felt pleasantly content. The service this time around was alright. It was really slow again and the manager had to come talk to us, but I am one who does not really care for slow service. The waiter treated us fairly well also. The value at milestones is affordable and is a good place to eat for a family. I got my pasta for eleven dollars or something. Anyway, the ambiance is pleasant, the washrooms are nice, the booths are nice, and I am left thinking that this place isn't as bad as I thought.

Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The9020 202 Street, Langley
Enjoyed eating here
Submitted Wednesday, October 7, 2009 - 6:04pm [Dine in]

Food- I went to this Keg last weekend and got the zesty salmon and the grilled boccincini flatbread. The flatbread was great. The balsamic sauce really added to it and I think it is the best appitizer at the Keg next to the nachos, which are the best in the world. Anyway, the zesty salmon was very good. I think it may have been a bit overcooked but I enjoyed it. The mashed potatoes were also amazing and I couldn't stop eating them. Also make sure when your waiter/waitress gives you bread, you ask for the garlic-cheese sauce with it.
Service- The sevice is always good at the Keg. We had a waitress that had served us twice before and she was very good.
Value-The value at this restaurant is okay. Whenever, I really like something and it fills me up for 25$ or less, I would give it a 3/5 for value.
Ambiance- The Keg is always very loud but that is just the atmosphere. If you are looking for a place that is quiet and has light music playing in the background, this isn't it. The decor in the Keg is very nice so it makes up for the loudness. One last thing is at the Keg, the restrooms are always very clean.

After rethinking
Submitted Monday, August 31, 2009 - 3:07pm [Dine in]

After rethinking my review on this restaurant, I have decided that my first review was very generous and the restaurant was not as good as I had made it sound. First, I have to say the service was still great, I just misjudged everything else. The food was good but not great. A thin omelette with two types of vegetables for $9.5 isn't the greatest deal. The portion was big, the hashbrowns were good but I could have made this at home for cheaper. Now, this was a little diner, so it's not expected to be stunning on the inside and it wasn't. That is why I give it a 2/5 for ambiance. I'm not saying that I hated this place, but I'm saying I was wrong to rate it so high last time. I might go there again in Harrison because it is still cheaper than every other restaurant, but if all the other restaurants were the same price as this, I wouldn't go here. The service was great, everything else was just okay.

Very Good Cakes
Submitted Friday, August 21, 2009 - 4:41pm [Dine in]

I had a cake from here for my birthday and it was very good. I know it is just a cake but when I tasted it, I could really feel that the person/people who made it didn't think of just another cake. I think that since this isn't a chain bakery, they put a lot more care into their pastries unlike places like dairy queen which makes you an Ice Cream cake and thinks money rather than I want to make this person happy on their birthday. This may be just a cake but this is the way I think. I'm having another cake from here today and it looks really good.

Best Indian Food In Langley
Submitted Friday, August 21, 2009 - 4:31pm [Dine in]

I have been here three or four times, and got something different three or four times. I didn't get something different each time because the food was bad, it was because the food was so good that I wanted to try other good things on the menu. One of the best things i have ordered from there would have to be the Paneer Makhni. The description of this is A vegetable delight chunks of fresh homemade cottage cheese cooked in a tomato based sauce with fenugreek & delicious blends of chefs secret spices. (I think the grammer may be wrong in that description but is just what the menu said) The cottage cheese in the paneer makhni was unbelievable. The cheese alone could be 4 and a half /5 stars. I have to be fair with the rating system though and say that the food was amazing but the service did not blow me away, the value did not blowing away, or the ambiance did not blow me away. The food was so good here though that all the other things don't matter. I will be eating it again tonight and I am so excited.

Las Margaritas1999 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver
Nice atmosphere with good food.
Submitted Tuesday, July 14, 2009 - 5:58pm [Dine in]

On my most recent visits to this restaurant I ordered a salmon burrito ($14.50) and combo number 7 ($14.50) The salmon burrito is explains itself and combo number 7 is a veggie burrito with chiles rellenos, which is basically chile peppers inside a egg batter. Out of these two dishes that I got, the salmon burrito was so much better but combo number 7 filled my stomach more. For the next ten times I go, I will order the salmon burrito because it was so good. A nice thing about Las Margaritas is the all you can eat chips and salsa for free which I totally took advantage of. Anyway, to conclude this review, I would say is a mexican restaurant in Vancouver with a good atmosphere and good food for families although I could probably walk through Vancouver and find better Mexican restaurants than this but the main point is that this is a reliable restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal.

Poseidon Greek Restaurant20795 Fraser Hwy, Langley
Solid place
Submitted Sunday, June 28, 2009 - 4:26pm [Dine in]

The normal greek restaurant that we go to has gotten loud and busy so we decided to check this out. Overall, I thought it was a good experience. I ordered something that was vegetarian and it was pretty good. (I can't believe I forget what it was called though) Also, when my party of four went in we were seated promptly thanks to the upper and lower levels of the restaurant. As well as all that, to make the experience nicer, our waiter looked like Henrik Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks. The only thing I can really complain about this place was the belly dancing. Next time, I think I might go on a day when they are not there because no offence to them, but I am the type of person who likes to enjoy their dinner and when a belly dancer comes along when I am eating, it kind of disturbs me because I don't really know if I should look up and smile at her or keep eating and ignore her.

Great!...For pizza. Too bad for the ambiance
Submitted Monday, June 22, 2009 - 5:30pm [Dine in]

What can you say about this place? It is ugly, it is not in a good location, but it has good pizza. I mean who cares if the ambiance is horrible. This isn't an restaurant ambiance site. This is a site where we rate good food and I thought it was good pizza. Not as good as pizza at proffesional restaurants but good for pizza by the slice. Good variety, good value, fast service, good food. So what if it has poor ambiance. Also if you really want to, you can have your pizza and then go to the ice cream place near there that has hundreds of flavors.

Great place if you are looking for quick and easy
Submitted Monday, June 15, 2009 - 9:56pm [Dine in]

I will tell you now that fatburger's food does not match up to a lot of restaurants. BUT, if you are looking for something quick and easy, go there. You go in, order at the front, dispense your drinks, and sit down. Cool pictures and T.V.'s are all over the place. I think it's a good value but it is a burger and I repeat that it cannot be that great. I had a swiss mushroom melt on a veggie burger and it was decent. I do appreciate the fact that the mushroom burger is originally a meat burger, but they let me have veggie.

Submitted Monday, June 15, 2009 - 9:49pm [Dine in]

Nothing new here. I could find ten better Indian restaurants in Langley. I would have given it decent ratings at first, but after I went there a few times, my satisfaction went down. I tried a very good indian cuisine my value village in langley and it was amazing. I forget what it was called but it really made me lose my appetite for Kismat.
