Great food, horrible service

I have to admit that although I get seriously angry every time I eat here, I continue to return again and again because the food is so delicious! It's a love-hate relationship, really. I agree with the other review that it takes FOREVER to get your food in this place and the servers are either incompetent and/or indifferent. However, the cooks are clearly doing something right because this place is always busy and I'm addicted to the coconut soup and the pad thai. I think it's kind of a "Soup Nazi" (from Seinfeld) situation where they know their food is good, so they don't even bother trying to be courteous.

Will NEVER Return
Submitted Tuesday, June 8, 2010 - 9:00pm [Dine in]

It doesn't surprise me that there are no reviews of this place since nobody is stupid enough to go in to this place...except me, apparently. Where to begin? The fact that the front window was so dirty that we could not see inside did not deter us; we were hungry and willing to try hole-in-the-wall Greek food. When we walked in, the man behind the counter acted as though we had just rudely interrupted the question to the Final Jeopardy answer in the Tournament of Champions (or something). The decor was reminiscent of what I would imagine a prison visitor waiting room to look like. To give the man behind the counter some credit, he did bring our chicken souvlakis to our table and handed them to us with about eight (8) napkins for each of us. We soon realized that we'd need this many napkins since each souvlaki wrap had about three quarters of a cup of tzatziki sauce on it. Mine also had a bonus 30 centimetre-long hair on it (luckily, it was in plain sight so I didn't actually bite into it, but wondered how he did not notice it). MAYBE, this food would have tasted good if you had just blazed a fatty in your orange shag carpet apartment after not having eaten for a day and a half, but for anyone else it was just not enjoyable at all. Not recommended.

What a find

We discovered this place by chance just walking by. The sushi chef here really seems to know what he is doing. By far the best dynamite roll in the city. Super fresh rice and nori make the sushi melt in your mouth. We were really impressd by the friendly service and the delicious Beef Udon. Prices are average for sushi in Victoria.
