My friends and I decided to have a late lunch at Lennox pub after many years of by-passing them. Surprisingly the food was very good. I really liked my grilled tuna and salad. Burgers and sandwiches were equally as good. However, the waitress kept on asking us to order more drinks and did not re-fill water unless asked. In spite restaurant was not busy at all. Bottom line, if we craving good bar food, take out rather eat in.
We walked by this Italian Coffee Roaster and Cafe one sunny day and was drawn in by it high ceiling, ostentatious decor. However, we were greeted warmly and offered a sample. The Baristas was polite and very knowledgeable. The first taste was good and we ended up staying and ordering very good hand crafted coffees around $3 to $4 each. There was a short wait as the coffee was slowly coaxed through a traditional siphon system. It was interesting experience and as we sat down to enjoy our coffees, we noticed a steady stream of loyal customers. Rocanini is an coffee experience. The restaurant is large with ample seating and lots of filtered lighting. It is both charming and inviting. They offer pastries, whole beans and coffee supplies and equipment. I almost wished for clones of Rocanini in my area.
I wasn't expecting much for a food cart but wow I was pleasantly surprised. This Korean style food cart is taking the West Coast by storm. They offer really good bibimbap. The portion size is large and service is fast. Price is decent. Keep up the good work! Will return.
Went there for dinner with gal pals and boy were we disappointed. Food wasn't great. Portions were exceptionally small for the price you pay. No value at all. Service was okay at first but went the restaurant filled up, it was hard to get our server's attention. The chef came out to chat with us which was nice but... Also, the TVs in the restaurant poses a distraction to conversation.
Was excited in trying out this restaurant after hearing positive reviews. Wow, can't see the hype. Menu does not offer much variety. Wait staff was snobby. Service was slow. Food is not good at all. Price is not worth the product you get. Overall experience was not enjoyable. Real let down.
I heard of great reviews about Kent's Kitchen on Victoria Drive for some time. I finally got a chance to visit for a take-out. For $4.50, you get two items of your choice over rice. A little extra to subsitute for noodles. The portions were very large. Although busy, service for professional, fast and courteous. What a great find! I don't mind parking a block away and walking over to take-out. So nice to find a economical take-out service decent food and good portions. I will recommend to anyone who likes chinese. Cheers!
Firstly, dim sum is usually busy. Food always comes out hot, tasty and good. Dinner is unexpectedly good. Food has nice wok favour. Decor is that of European banquet hall. Service is sometimes not up to par. There appears to be lots of wait staff shuffling back and forth but not doing much. Parking is ample and location is good. If they can improve on service can be a real contender in Richmond. I hope this restaurant stays.
Anna's Cake House used to be an institution for good chinese pastries and cake. Not anymore. Prices have skyrocketed and portions got very chinzy and small. Everytime I go in hoping for the vast variety on their web site I am disappointed to see half empty cases and meager portions. For same price can get better pastries at St. Germain.
Everytime I go to the mall, I always make a bee line to Manzano. I like buying fresh bread and a cookie or a lemon square to nosh on. A few things I tried their sandwiches. It was fresh, good and filling. This little cafe/bakery is always busy. It would be nice if there was more seating. Prices are high but you get what you pay for. Can't complain.
Bosa Foods carries all sorts of Italian and European groceries. I like the store for its variety and selection. There is always something I like to pick up. The dine in area is different. There is very little seating for lunch. I usually carry out sandwiches, coffee and dessert. The service is slow and unfriendly at best. Too bad, the grocery retail part is what attracts people but the coffee shop really deters people from coming back.
I read a great review and heard good things about Lin's Chinese Cuisince so we ventured out for a meal. We were expecting more than just standard mediocre Hong Kong style food. Prices were high and portions were small. With so many asian restaurants in town, they got competition. Service was friendly but not attentive. Overall so so.
I went there with a group of friends trying the BC Three course tasting menu. I was highly disappointed with my experience. The hostnesses were snobbish to say the least. Service was attentive because we ordered a bottle of wine but the food took forever to arrive. The salad was tasteless. The salmon smelled bad. Dessert was a poached half peach with salad yogurt sauce. Expensive evening not worth it's value. Decor with bistro meets loft meets Rainforest Cafe. Yikes!
Surprisingly I always liked this restaurant. The food is usually very good. The portions are fairly large and service is attentive but not annoying. Prices are a bit high but it is downtown. The consistency is really good. This is a nice little place for lunch. This restaurant serves good bread.
This Cactus Club restaurant is modern, new and clean. The food, service and ambiance are good. Portion size is good. Drinks are slightly inflated. Like the fish tacos and sweet potatoe fries. It can get very noisy and busy during the evenings and weekends. I generally like this location for a chain restaurant. Easy parking.
Aki is located downtown and they has always served consistently good food and fast service. I love their grilled fish, sushi and udons. I have never been disappointed by them. Prices are very reasonable for downtown. They have a loyal following of customers. I highly recommend Aki Japanese Restaurant.
This place is always packed at lunch. They offer a cheap all you can eat menu. We prefer a la carte. The lunch boxes are pretty good. Tempura is a little greasy. Udon is pretty good. The service is always very slow. We found we have to wave the waiter down many times for service. However pretty good for mall restaurant.
We always come here for good, cheap pho, salad rolls and grilled rice noodle entrees. The food has been consistent over the years. Service remains the same. The restaurant could be cleaner. The tables are sometimes sticky and we find we have to wipe down our utensils before eating. However, we cannot complain the food is good!
I heard Nao has newly expanded but is the product of same owners as Sushi House. We usually order sushi and found it consistently good. The portions are not as large as it was under the Sushi House banner. The prices have gone up. Cooked food was okay too. Generally we like this restaurant and would recommend it.
This restaurant usually serves pretty good greek style food. Lunch prices around $10 is pretty good. Service is a little slow and the waiteress is sometimes spacey. This place could use a make over and hire a few more staff. Lunch is okay here. Although I am not fond of the wrap. Also portions are smaller than traditional greek restuarants.
This is our all time favourite steak house. The food is always consistent. We like the prime rib special that comes with a caesar. The portions are excellent. We also like the shrimp cocktails and escargots. This place gets very busy and noisy most evenings but is still a good restaurant. We highly recommend this restaurant.
