great pizza, great price, great service

dddn prides itself in making great tasting pizza that's good for you. i'm not a nutrition type, but they aren't greasy monsters like the franchise pizza joints and they are very tasty! great food at good price. there's no messing around with sizes. you get a large or a large... unless you want a slice. in which case you get a slice from a large ;-)

my only complaint is a lack of white table cloths and candles... oh wait! this is a pizza joint! i would give the ambiance a 5 too, but it's just another pizza joint. there isn't a white table cloth in sight, but it's clean. perfect.

the ladies who run the place are kinda like my mom (only they're little asian ladies). they always have big smiles and i'm pretty sure they want to give a hug to everyone who buys their food.

solid 5's from me! i would give the ambiance a 5 too, but i haven't got my hug yet ;-)

i thought they were good til i broke it down

i live just around the corner from sushi mori and they have become a bit of a staple. i really enjoy the food, but feel the price is a bit high for the quality. ambiance is quite good in the restaurant. it's a great place to sit down for a drink with friends after skiing at grouse. if there were other options close by i would probably chose them.

good food without the msg

seems all the chinese takeout places in north vancouver pollute their food with msg and other nasties. woon lee has great food without the extras!

if you're a sweet and sour boneless pork junkie try the honey garlic derivative... you'll never go back to the orange stuff!

the restaurant dining are is not exactly stellar. reminds me of an old diner. go for the take out if you can, but if you can't sit back and relax with a beer and enjoy what i think is the best chinese in north vancouver.

high prices without the quality

not terribly impressed about the ocean club. the ambience was reasonable, but food and drinks were not great (and that's giving them some benefit). first beer went back as the glass was half head. second one was ok. changed to try a different one... it went back as it was mouldy.

had clams as a starter which were quite good, then my pasta main showed up looking like it had been run in a microwave for about an hour... i munched anyway as i had already returned two drinks and didn't feel like being "the jerk customer", but i bet a cardboard box would have been as good.

service was good. a little overbearing, but that may have been due to the drink returns.

a friend tried the spot later that week and was happy. i'll probably try again, but it's a hard taste to shake right now.

great food makes up for service
Submitted Tuesday, April 10, 2007 - 10:51am [Dine in]

read other reviews before going so was prepared for poor service, and planned a relaxing long meal. service was not as slow as mentioned, but i can see how the solo waitress could become overwhelmed on a busy night.

the food was excellent. enchiladas and the taco soup were outstanding! wifes fajitas looked great also.

highly recommend el nopalito
