Hideout Cafe716 Carnarvon St, New Westminster
Best in the West
Submitted Saturday, November 20, 2010 - 1:59pm [Dine in]

I am a Douglas College student and have been for the past 3 years. I have been coming to the hide out cafe for the past 2 years as it is right across the street and super convenient. Everybody talks about the food which is incredible, but the coffee is something else. The best latte's and Americano's in the lower mainland let alone New Westminster. They use Continental Coffee from Commercial Drive., Nice to know they use local organic free trade, and they use mighty leaf teas wich is also a bonus, try the New West fog, it;s there take on the london fog, and to die for.
At lunch time from 11.30am - 1.30pm they do have some rules which is o.k seeing as it's a packed house most days and everyone at this time is there for lunch. When I go by myself at this time they direct me to the single seats by the window, at first I thought it was weird, but when I saw the piles of people rushing in at lunch time I then started to understand why. No laptops at lunch which actually is great because its not over run by students and small coffee's, it's a Bistro not a Waves or Starbucks, so there's room to sit for lunch for everybody, makes sense any way to take a single instead of a four man table when I am by myself. After 1.30 you can sit and use laptops all you want or before 11.30am so no loss there anyway.
Another bonus is you save 10% as a student, highly needed in this day in age.Sadly this is my last year in school, but may still pop in just to have my favourite grilled Mango chicken wrap. Thank you for my experience I highly recomend this place.
