Thanks for the Fish head!
Submitted Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - 7:14pm [Dine in]

Upon entering, we were given a mini presentation of the specials for the night. My fiance was surprised to see one of the deals of the evening was a jug of Sapporo beer for $10. Pretty good deal. :)

The decor was very well done. The restaurant is filled with trees and origami cranes hanging from the ceiling...I would say this is the best looking decor I've seen. Even the dishware was beautiful. (natural stone kettles for tea and ceramic plates along with real, metal chop sticks! :D)

The food was great, we were served a complimentary fried fish head upon sitting down and were told that eating it would be "good for our brains" ...maybe we looked like our brains could use some help? ;)

The service was VERY friendly, the food was tasty but the portions were on the smaller side. (my gomae was the teeniest bit of spinach I've ever been served on a big plate. and the salmon sashimi ($10.95) was the smallest serving I think I've ever had.

Everything was delicious...their specialty rolls were amazing flavor and value. The entire experience is one I'm looking forward to having again soon. :)

You're kidding, right?
Submitted Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - 6:51pm [Dine in]

After reading all the raving reviews about Namoo, we had to try it. I really dont even know where to begin with how disappointed we were with...well...everything.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
-they made some sort of an effort at modern decor, although it all seems a little "off" for some reason. (nightclub bar style sushi counter mixed with diner benches for seating?? hmmm)

SERVICE:
-wow. I cant remember a single thing that went right with the service. We didn't get plates, our food came out wrong which made the owner get very upset with our server (awkward!) and I believe the most frustrating thing was that it felt like we needed to keep explaining what we wanted to our server....she never seemed to get it.

FOOD:
-I've never had terrible tea at a sushi restaurant before but this was the strangest tea I've ever tasted. It seemed oily for some reason. (SO weird!)
-My ebi sunomono came with stinky, tiny shrimp on top....a pet peeve of mine.
-The sashimi came out as spicy sashimi the first time and then returned to our table in a pile of little pieces (again...strange.).
-the rice was hard and crumbly
-GOOD: The volcano roll was pretty cool. :) We said that if we hadn't ordered the volcano roll, the entire meal would have been depressing. ha ha

Try it if you want, but I'd say it's all a big flop.

Surprised and Delighted!
Submitted Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - 6:40pm [Dine in]

I really wasn't expecting much when my fiancee and I pulled up to the restaurant. I had only heard of it because of the dinehere reviews but we have been eating at different sushi restaurants every day for the last week and a half trying to find the best food. I have to admit, I was VERY pleasantly surprised!

We arrived at 5pm which is opening time for their dinner seatings. Within 30min, there were already another 5 tables and some take-out orders being taken...this was a little shocking since the place seemed to be sort of hidden and unassuming.

The decor was a little dismal....ugly carpets, a strange effort at some bamboo structure and old seating. The service was acceptable/polite but the food was delicious! We ordered what we order at every restaurant (in order to compare!)

Miso Soup
Gomae
Ebi sunomono
Salmon Sashimi
2 Rolls (in this case, BBQ Eel roll and spicy tuna)
Chicken Teryaki

...the ebi sunomono was the best I'd ever had. The salmon sashimi ($11.00) was more expensive than many of the other places but the serving size was reasonable (less than sushi town but more than most other places).

The spicy tuna roll was a great spice level, but a teeny bit fishy tasting...which would be my only (minor) complaint.

All in all, I can see why Fuji Sushi has so many repeat customers.

We'll be back for sure!

100% Satisfied-wanting to go back the next day!

Wow.

The pizza is amazing, the ambiance is unbelievable (I drove by the house every day and would NEVER suspect the interior to be as impressive as it is!), and the service was outstanding (they mixed up our pizza order so they brought us a second Large to correct their mistake! yum!).

We hadn't left yet and were already planning excuses to return and compiling a list of friends we wanted to share it with.

A perfect place for a casual, romantic evening...sip on a glass of red wine, enjoy some classic italian style pizza and finish it all off with some chocolate fondue...all at a price that leaves money in your pocket for a thoughtful gift. ;)

...enjoy!

Amazing! Until an MSG discovery....
Submitted Sunday, September 26, 2010 - 1:40am [Dine in]

I am insanely picky about thai food. I've traveled around Thailand and even taken traditional cooking lessons there! That being said, I really love the food at Chada Thai. I used to find any excuse to share the restaurant with friends....until I brought my boyfriend for dinner.

The service was great, and he absolutely loved the food as much as I did. We each wished we could stay there, enjoying the flavors all night although as soon as we got to the car, he started to itch and broke out in hives over the blood vessels on the inside of his wrists. We both know this is how he reacts to exposure to MSG because his parents cook with it sometimes and will admit to it after he has a reaction. :( We were both very disappointed because we want so badly to keep eating there but don't want to have to ask about MSG or wonder if he's going to leave with hives again.

Even writing about it makes me feel sad...I'm so in love with the food!
