(3.6) (3.5) (4) (3) (4)We dined at Onyx the first month it opened and loved it so much we went back for my sister's birthday a few weeks later. I'm not sure if they had changed chef's however we went back a few months later and the food was terrible! I ordered the chicken and it was so gummy and over cooked I couldn't eat it. My sister ordered the steak and it was tough and chewy. For the prices they charge you'd expect better quality. The waitress noticed that my plate was un-touched and didn't offer to bring me something else or take it off the bill. I think this place started off on the right foot but has gone down hill. It's an ok place to have drinks after work with friends but as a restaurant I prefer the steak and chicken dinners at The Keg.
After reading some of the negative reviews below - and being that I've dined at Sango numerous times now - I have to say that Sango is the best sushi restaurant in the Tricities! The food is amazing - flavour, freshness and presentation is up there in my books. The service is excellent and the ambience - although fairly casual - is clean and comfortable. Fair to say that their prices are higher than some of the other sushi restaurants in the area however, you can't compare to the quality you get at Sango. You get what you pay for and these guys know what their doing. We've introduced friends and family to this place and they are hooked too! Love these guys and hope they are around for a long time! Take out service is fast too which is great!
