Boss Bakery & Restaurant, The532 Main, Vancouver
been a loyal customer for over a year
Submitted Monday, October 4, 2010 - 5:27pm [Dine in]

I have been a loyal customer for over a year and Boss consistently delivers delicious and good value Chinese food with generous portions and speedy service. The boneless salt and pepper spare ribs are always very good, spring-rolls are crispy and not overly greasy, and the BBQ pork fried rice was better than most other places. For the value you can't beat it. This place is a true gem, try it once and you too will become a regular.

great service and delicious food
Submitted Monday, October 4, 2010 - 5:10pm [Dine in]

The place is good for the 1st timer as well as the regular. We went on a Wednesday night and enjoyed a fun dinner with great service and delicious food. The waiter did a good job of upselling, adding booze and desserts to our small bill. We had their Chicken Tikka, it was just wonderful. The sauce was delicious and perfectly balanced, the chicken was extremely tender as well. I think the prices are well-set, they are certainly in tune with the portion size and quality. The atmosphere is authentic. The servers were friendly in general and particularly helpful with my questions. I can't wait going back.

Keg Steakhouse & Bar, The1499 Anderson St., Vancouver
food there is solid
Submitted Monday, August 30, 2010 - 9:08pm [Dine in]

I've been going to Keg 4 to 5 times a year for many years. The food there is solid! - good steak, sides, salads, deserts. The service is great, friendly and informative. Steak melted in my mouth. It's always cooked very well. It's soft and tasty. I am usually full after the Filet Mignon, but I have to finish it up. The atmosphere could certainly be considered loud, however it is a restaurant, a public setting. I highly recommend Keg if you want spend some good money on some good food!

Was a mistake
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 10:01am [Dine in]

So just passby here the other night with few of my friends since we all fans of the mexican food. Was a mistake! The food was yuck: the rice was tasteless while the burritos are soggy, fries were drenched in oil. When we were still eating the cooks in the kitchen started cleaning the floor and the bleach smell made everyone choke. all in all this place is a waste of money.

good meal at a reasonable price
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 9:43am [Dine in]

We tried this restaurant because lots of favorable reviews around. Service wise, our waitress was prompt and courteous. The place was clean and bright. The yellow curry chicken was fantastic! Beer selection was outstanding as well. For the main dish, the Garlic Sauce steamed veggies and a side of coconut rice is very good. We also all agreed that the Spicy Noodles-Pad Thai came in second place and was very tasty as well. For dessert, Lychee Sorbet was refreshing after a full meal. This is a good value restaurant, If you want a really good meal at a reasonable price, go here.

still have a coupon and sure will be back
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 9:16am [Dine in]

Went there last Tuesday for the first time because of the Entainment Book, only found out at their door that we left it at home... but I said we should try it anyway, and I was right, we had a great dinner! Their food bar, especially seafood, looked very nice and fresh. I had mainly big shimps plus some spinach, added just the right amount of garlic and lemon sauce, it was so good and looked pretty too. It's healthy as well because I told the cook only put in drop or two oil when they put it on the grill. Despite it was quite busy at the time, our server was fast and very pleasant, took the time to explain the special beer to my friend and was nice enough to bring some for taste. I, on the other hand, took his recommendation and had their real fruit strawberry slushy drink, it was just simply delicious! One drawback though, the "naked" wet towels seemed re-washed and not sanitized, we didn't touch them at all. Why don't they use those sealed disposable ones like the chopsticks they put on the tables?

delicious steamed chicken
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 7:17am [Dine in]

I've been a regular customer of this restaurant for quite a few years. The flavor has been very consistant. I can always get the same delicious steamed chicken dish every timeI go there. I also love the Cantonese beef short-rib with mushroom and onions, then wash down with a bottle of Tsing Tao beer. $25(include tax and tips) and I'm happy for the rest of the day. It's always a crowded place but I am always able to get a seat without too much waiting. Not much ambiance around there, but I go for the food anyway.

Cristos Greek Taverna4624 Hastings Street, Burnaby
new favorite Greek place
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 6:55am [Dine in]

the place smelled so good as soon as we walked in the door, we ordered a bunch of small dishes and shared some entrees. started with an amazing Greek salad, the meatballs, spicy and juicy, the shrimp with feta and the calamari with lemon and garlic could not have been better. the lamb was a must, we had roasted lamb chop which was seasoned perfectly, and cooked to tender and soft. we also had these amazing zucchini fritter and the best chicken dish I have ever had with chic peas and olives. great choice of wines by the glass and the service is also friendly. This is our new favorite Greek place and we will be back soon.

Solid place
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 6:40am [Dine in]

The fish fried to perfection, crispy outside and hot flaky inside. coleslaw is also terrific, their home made tarter sauce is a to die for. the portions are quite big so therefore the price is good. the only drawback is you don't want to eat too much deep fried food these days for the obvious health concern, besides that, I am very happy with everything this fish & chip place can offer.

Portion is nice
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 6:18am [Dine in]

Having been to lots of sushi restaurants in the city, we always head for Sushi Town. The food is always fresh, always delicious - it's worth the money. The service is consistently polite too. My two favorite rolls are the Spicy Tuna Roll and the Big BC Roll. I've also had the gyoza-pan fried pork dumplings and the nasu-eggplant with miso sauce, both of which are in big size, which can ease the burden of your wallet from this much hated HST tax.

Best springrolls
Submitted Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - 6:01am [Dine in]

Best springrolls I've ever had.
We order from here all the time for quick, inexpensive dinners. They are always tasty and incredibly fast to be on our table. perfect overstuffed springrolls you could ever imagine. Add the chilli sauce and consider yourself hooked. Though they may not show the true authenticity, the quality and flavor of the springrolls are supreme and should not be overlooked. Noodle and rice dishes are occasionally not hot enough, but the springrolls will surely impress. prices reasonable.

went there a week ago, greeted by a friendly staff and the food is outstanding from appetizers to desert to the coffee. The wine list is not that bad as well. This neighborhood has alot of history and Anducci is becoming a part of it. the place is beautiful and the servers are good looking :) excellent veal parmigiana!
