This is a nice solid place where the food is good and the service is trustworthy and consistent.
It can be very busy but the waiting time is not bad. They are very fair. Tables for 2 are easier to get than for parties of 5 or 6.
The staff are used to being busy , bless their hearts. They are kind and hardworking and will go the extra mile and part with extra smiles.
Thanks ANGEL Staff.
Two pieces of cold sausage links, chopped fried potatoes and a glop of hardened scrambled eggs, Not bad although it but may not be very nutritious and heart friendly.
Factor the price All this for a dollar and it is attractively a big deal and so of course the place is generally packed.
My beef was with the coffee.
********* SOUR !!!!!!!!!!*********************
and not just slightly sour, Like someone made a batch of 50 cups at 8AM and only 10 people came in so it is still being served to the 1030 AM crowd.
Cant help but think " yup a few cents more and I could have better quality coffee from McDonalds across the street"
Maybe the early morning crowd had a better coffee experience.
This place started off as a bubble tea place many many years ago , back when bubble tea was a novelty for many Vancouverites.
The food served here is good, and the quality is maintained and duplicated time and time again. They have no "bad" days, the people are always pleasant and friendly, and the place is clean and immaaculate.
Their soup is delicious and they serve it without MSG, words of music to the ears of those who get a bad headache after partaking soups that have the dreaded substance.(supposedly a flavor enhancer)
Nice and ok quality sushi. Service is so-so. The value in this place is the variety of the sushi served. Lots of different ones to try Its downside is difficulty of parking. You need to circle around the block a couple of times or take your chances in crossing the busy East Broadway when you park at the Kingsgate mall on the opposite side
if the meat was not overcooked or reheated (whatever they do to the burger) it would have been fine. The taste was not horrible, but it was not memorable either
The chef or grill person might have been overly enthusiastic about hot sauce. Darn it, the bread was soaked with it. soppy and wet with dry meat. What a combination.
The food is fine- not great but I cant complain. It was just not worth the half hour and more time wasted in
1. finding parking
2. waiting at a cramped area by the door for a table.
I like the scallops on vegetable dumpling. There are other places in Vancouver that serve good dimsum and this is one of them. (top twenty) for me.
I'm prejudiced but I have been eating here for years and I like this restaurant.
What is good about this place? The food naturally. the chefs are great. Service is great
Jimmy greets everyone with a smile. If you come at around 9PM they have a value dinner menu. Order 3 or 4 dishes from there and they would even give you some congee to go with the meal.
For large parties, check out the party menu. It is worth celebrating your special occasions in this restaurant .
There is something missing- little things such as 2 or more spices from the broth of the wonton soup, the piece of green vegetables like a strip of gailan that used to be present the last time I ate there.
The sauce for the beef brisket was blander, the noodles less fresher tasting. and even the potstickers were not as tarty sweet as before.
I cant put a finger to the taste change. But I AINT COMING BACK NO MORE.
