I had the opportunity to try this sushi bar and was impressed with the sushi quality. I ate in and it was a husband-wife team. The sushi is better than Sushi Town and I will be back.
The location may not be as prominent as it is a somewhat tucked away.
A lesmark recommendation

This place is one of my favorites. I would classify this place as in the top three in Burnaby for food and value. The fish is fresh and the preparation is great! No real complaints here. I would recommend it but not too loudly as this restaurant is getting more and more popular.
Quick fix for Indian!

I've been to Mehfil on numerous occasions and this place has satisfied my craving for Indian food. It may not always be the very best but hasn't been horrible either. Mehfil apparently provides catering to weddings as well and I've heard the catered food is often times better than the buffet. Not sure if the 'off times' at the buffet is what is left over at from a wedding? But I've usually enjoyed this place nonetheless. Usually there is butter chicken at the buffet and the Naan's are fairly fresh too!
Worth a Try!

I went to have lunch at Go Thai last week and was impressed with the food. It appears they've tried to improve this place a bit as far as interior goes. The food is authentic and the prices reasonable. The location may pose some challenges but I think I will be back! Tried the Pad Thai, Tom Yum Koong Soup and it was good.
Best Congee House in Vancouver
Submitted Sunday, October 1, 2006 - 4:44pm [Dine in]
I was surprised to see some of the experiences in this review. My experiences have always been positive and the value at this place is great. As far as congee goes this place is regarded as one of the better restaurants in Vancouver by a good number of people.
The service is as good as it can get for an establishment like this. The wonton is very good and they do a better than average job on the other items on the menu in my opinion.
Below Average restaurant

I can't understand the attraction of this place. The prices are average to below average perhaps but I have never been impressed with this place.
Service is average and the food appears to have been borderline below average at best. This is one place that I would not think about going to eat if it wasn't for the company I was with.
Best Fried Chicken

This Church's is nice but from my past experiences with other Church's establishments can say that Church's is very consistent. I definitely prefer Church's over KFC and haven't been disappointed to date by any Church's I've been to.
I've given Church's a high rating considering the market it is in - Church's does chicken right!
Solid Chinese food for take-out

This restaurant has been around for quite some time. I would often order the take-out/delivery for convenience and this restaurant's business is pretty much the take-out/delivery part as opposed to eating in. However, the times I did eat in the service was great. True there aren't a lot of parking spaces but I seemed to have found a spot each time I was there.
They also have great deals on lunch specials if you're in the area.

I was at Burgers Etc. yesterday for lunch and made it in after the lunch hour rush. Wanted to try out their toppings and milkshake and was pleasantly surprised. The burger was sensational! The milkshake was decent but not spectacular.
Nice to see a burger place open up in Burnaby too. Good timing with the closing of Rodeo Burger in Surrey.

This place is quite elegant where customer's eat. The food can be a little pricey but here's the kicker - there have been numerous restaurant violations recently. I can't even imagine what the kitchen is like. Sure - Sure, you are eating out and can expect a not-so-clean kitchen perhaps BUT 17 (Seventeen) violations??? Are they charging us high prices to keep the kitchen dirty and the facility running poorly?
Good Food but poor server

I've been going to this place on and off for the past twelve years. Unfortunately they have now removed their weekend brunch special. Yes - the owners are Asian but I can tell you that the food is better than Las Margaritas and better than Pepitas.
I was disappointed in the male server. Very little customer service experience and pro-employer as opposed to pro-customer. It should be noted that the servers often change at this place.

I agree with the previous comment. The main lady just doesn't smile.
I ordered two items as I had an Entertainment coupon. What happened next is something I haven't yet experienced. I placed my order with the lady who did not appear happy to see my coupon. She only took off $5.00 off my total order when it should have been $7.95. I let it slide as it was a few bucks and there were people waiting. So what happens next? She didn't give me a receipt nor any of the other customers. I sat the second of three tables and observed - she did a 'mental bill' and charged people accordingly to compensate for the coupon that I used!!! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry...absolutely preposterous...
She was short with me and I am happy that I got my order - don't expect a smile with service from this bitter woman.
Health Authorities please shut these guys down!

This place is just unbelievable. The service is horrible - no host, inattentive waiters, dirty washroom, terrible food. However, this place (I don't like to call this a restaurant) does push the outer limits of borderline fresh sushi.
These guys scrimp on the fish and give you a ton of rice when ordering nigiri sushi. Maybe if someone gets real sick one day - they can look at changing their name to 'Sue Ya' Sushi?
