Worth a try...
Submitted Monday, April 21, 2008 - 11:28pm [Dine in]

great location close to the Orpheum and Commodore...so if you are planning a show and wanna grab decent parking early you can head there. the drink menu definitely needs some revamping...the one we had check marks and X's throughout. Wine list is a bit skimpy but generous pour and prices not too bad. A group of 8 last night for dinner...most opted for pasta dishes which were piping hot and delivered promptly. Hummus is garlic lovers dream! Service was polite and prompt but appeared to be short-staffed for the number of people dining. All is in all its decent and clean. Definitely worth a pre-show try!

So what looked like a potentially great breakfast joint on a sunny Sunday morning turned into a disappointment....sorry if we inconvenienced the staff by requesting menus and coffee...sorry if we had to interrupt your important conversation about the night before so we could ask for cutlery to eat our long time coming breakfast...

Definitely catering to out of towners who will never come back anyway...too bad as it could be a great place...nice sized patio, comfy chairs and umbrellas for every table. Just wish I could get some service.

Choppers Diner2545 Nanaimo St., Vancouver
good food but is it worth the wait?
Submitted Sunday, April 13, 2008 - 4:06pm [Dine in]

First visit today for a Sunday breakfast. It was busy but not crazy...it took over 30 minutes for my eggs to arrive. Food was good but the service was really SLOW. Girls were hustling with bussing tables etc. Food was hot when it came out so I am guessing the kitchen staff needs a good shake up. Willing to try it again but if it takes as long to get served I won't be back.

Decent place, friendly staff, great view of north shore mountains made experience pleasant enough.

One of the best patios in Vancouver!
Submitted Friday, August 24, 2007 - 5:57pm [Dine in]

Don't tell too many people but the patio at Dockside is one of the best in Vancouver. Its not pretentious in anyway, just good food with decent service.

Great views of False Creek, heated patio, decent menu with excellent starters, mains consist of prime rib, chicken and plenty of seafood options. Last night we worked our way through the starters - oysters, crab cakes, smoked salmon & trout, tuna carpaccio.

The wine list is decent with some interesting offerings. I noticed last night that there were several folks ordering flights of wine - 3 x 2oz (but they looked a bit bigger) for $12 or so. Draft beer brewed on premises.

I've been there several times this summer and it has been pleasant each time. There are multiple options for seating too - from inside the restaurant, the pub or the patio...

worth trying out...

I think that when it comes to curries that everyone has a different taste...I am a middle of the road curry girl. Bombay Bhel is middle of the road in many ways. The food is decent but a bit on the pricey side for what they offer. Typical dinner for two is always in the $60 - 80 range with drinks. Its a nice option in the Heights neighbourhood. The gorma is quite decent as is the aloo gobi. Definitely worth trying but still room for improvement.

Breakfast!!!
Submitted Saturday, August 18, 2007 - 11:21am [Dine in]

We will to go to the Marina Grill for breakfast. Depending on the weather the outdoor patio maybe open. Great view of the marina but can be a bit noisy with the 2nd narrows bridge overhead and the shunting of train cars on rare days.

The food is consistently good - your classic breakfast choices with pancakes and waffles too. Service is okay but its a busy place so be prepared to wait a bit.

They have recently updated the entrance of the restaurant which has been a huge improvement!
