Not a bad Experience
Submitted Wednesday, December 26, 2007 - 11:57pm [Dine in]

The decor at Montanas is quite neat...a very "cabin in the woods" feel. The restaurant was really busy when we arrived and was quite noisy. Our server (the bartender, as we sat in the lounge) was really good, very helpful and friendly. The food took a little long to arrive, this was understandable as there were a few large parties. The food was definatly acceptable I had the veggie burger and my fiance had the Canadian burger both were really quite good our only complaint was cold fries...not a bad place at all though.

Great Place to Spend a Sunday Evening!

We love the pizza at Big Ridge.....creative toppings, thin crust, no grease and cooked in a wood oven, it's awesome, and on Sundays they are all half price (the beer is on special also). We've been many times and the service is consistently great.....definatly a good neighbourhood pub!

Good Food, Good Service.....Took a Long Time!
Submitted Thursday, November 15, 2007 - 1:00am [Dine in]

We went to the Old Bavaria Haus for my grandparents wedding anniversay, the food and service was great....we did however wait about an hour for our meals. When they finally arrived everything was wonderful. I am a vegetarian and was delighted to see all the veggie options on the menu, and really enjoyed the homemade vegetarian schnitzle. Definatley give this restaurant a try....it's worth the wait.

This was my second time at Waterstone. After a good experience with a friend I decided to take my fiance out to dinner. We were quickly seated, server was a little slow in taking our drink order, considering it wasn't that busy at all. The red wine I ordered was unavailable, our server informed us they were revamping the wine list (definatley needed) not a problem. We ordered a starter ceaser to share, when it arrived, in two seperate bowls we thought it looked a little large, sure enough they had brought us the full size, not the starter. The salad was covered in bacon, which I can't eat, my salad was replaced, (was okay, but very fishy...too much anchovy.) I'm not sure why they offer no descriptions of the dishes on their menus....inconveninces like these could quite easily be prevented. Ou food took quite a while to arrive, considering we ordered a sandwich and a pizza. Meals were great until my fiance discovered a long hair in his sandwich. His meal was comped, which we appreciated. Overall not as good of an experience I had on my first visit.....don't think we'll go back for much more than a Friday night martini.

Decent Food, High end Service
Submitted Saturday, September 22, 2007 - 12:10am [Dine in]

My fiance and I love Italian food. We have lived in Tuscany, and extensivley traveled Italy, we are always excited to try any new Italian restaurant we might happen to come across. The service at Villa Verdi was impeccable, fine dining style as mentioned in a previous review. My "Linguini al Pesto" was fantastic, rich and creamy, like it should be, my finace was a little less impressed with his "Spaghetti al Carbonara" feeling it lacked in flavor. We both agreed the Tiramisu was fantastic. Will say it was a little pricey considering portion sizes, with this said, pasta is never considered a main course in Italy, but more of a first course to be followed by a meat and vegetable course, I beleive this is what Villa Verdi is going for....would definatley reccomend checking it out for a multi course meal, and or a special occasion.

Pretty much what we expected
Submitted Friday, September 21, 2007 - 11:51pm [Dine in]

We were quite skeptical about trying Old Spaghetti Factory after two "less than memorable" experiences at both the New West and Whistler locations, craving pasta (our usual Traditional Italian restaurant was closed for the evening) we decided to give it one more shot. Right off the bat my fiance and I were sat right next to a large table of children and babies (why do restaurants continue to do this....we understand if it is a busy evening, but there were many tables away from the crying infants) We were then served incredibly cold, stale bread. We ordered a bottle of Chianti, when the waitress brought the wine to our table and attempted to open it, both my fiance and I cringed, it was aparent she had never been taught how to properly serve a bottle of wine. The cork broke in half, which she left in the bottle on our table while she whisked away to find another server to help her get it out. We ended up opening the bottle ourselves.....Yikes! The salads were very average. My fiances tomato sauce was quite runny and my pesto linguini was dry and overcooked, I will say after sending it back it was much more acceptable the second time, but not wonderful. I don't think we'll be returning.....neat decor, but not enough to bring us back!

Submitted Sunday, March 4, 2007 - 2:34am [Dine in]

Choo Choo's offered a great atmosphere and very solid, attentive service. The food was decent, we found it a little over priced, for the quality. Great service though, large menu, lots to choose from.

Good food.....way too busy!
Submitted Wednesday, February 21, 2007 - 10:56pm [Dine in]

We made a reservation at Olive Garden Langley, were told the table would be available at 7pm, as we had out of town family coming in we wanted to make sure a table would be available for our party. We still waited over 40 minutes (past our 7pm reservation time.) The salad and breadsticks were great as usual, food was decent, I wouldn't say great, but decent. I have definatly had better Italian. Our server was okay, not the most attentive, but ok. Not sure the chaos, noise and wait times are worth the visit. An average experience.

Wonderful Dining Experience
Submitted Wednesday, February 21, 2007 - 10:27pm [Dine in]

My fiance took me to Cafe Luxy for dinner on my birthday. We had an amazing experience. The restaurant is very small, only 15 tables (I would definatly reccomend a reservation!) but offered friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Very authentic Italian atmosphere (we have dined in Italy many times.) The best Italian I have eaten outside of Italy, perfectly cooked pasta, tasty sauces....would definatly reccomend this little gem to anyone! Great prices also!

Really good experience!
Submitted Thursday, February 15, 2007 - 2:19am [Dine in]

I have been to the Shark Club quite a few times. Usually (on Friday, Saturday nights) the service isn't great. Through out the week, however I have had nothing but positive experiences. The cheese panini and the chicken pesto penne ( I always order it without the chicken) is delicious. The last time we were there our server was incredibly attentive and sweet. Wouldn't reccomend the Shark Club on Fri or Sat as more than a night club.....check it out during the week though, a great place to catch a game!

Cold, Bland Food
Submitted Wednesday, February 14, 2007 - 2:51am [Dine in]

My fiancee and I decided to try Anducci's as we truely love pasta and Italian food. We are perhaps slightly fussy about good Italian as we lived in Tuscany for 6 months. Anduccis was however some of the worst Italian I have ever had. I ordered a Fettucini Alfredo, which neither warm nor fettucini. The noodles were sliced ruffled lasagna sheets, the sauce was barely noticable and the dish as a whole was ice cold. I sent my meal back and again recieved a cold entree, with little sauce and less flavor. My fiancees dish was also very sub par. We did enjoy the balsamic type bread they serve as an appetizer....but complementry bread certaintly is not enough to return as customers.

Good Service.....Terrible Food
Submitted Wednesday, February 14, 2007 - 12:53am [Dine in]

I have consistently been dissapointed with my visits to Old Spaghetti Factories, and have stopped going. My visit to the Whistler location was no reprieve. My fiancee and I decided to have dinner there during a three night stay in the city for an anniversary. Our server was quite friendly and welcoming, the food however was again, a major let down. We ordered the baked, cheese stuffed tortellini with alfredo. I'm not sure there even was sauce in the dish, if there was it was completly saturated during the baking process, the tortellini was literally the tri-colored tortellini I see at the grocery store and the portion sizes were so tiny, I believe a child would leave hungry (I don't have a huge appetite.) As I said, I won't be returning to any OSF anytime soon!

Good Food....Way to Expensive!
Submitted Wednesday, February 14, 2007 - 12:42am [Dine in]

The Mongolie Grill has great food, as long as you have some type of cooking ability (if not, go with someone who does!) I did, however find it way too expensive. I am a vegetarian, filled my little bowl with chow mein and fresh veggies, my meal ended up costing $21.00, I have a hard time paying that for a meatless dish. I have had stirfrys just as good and twice the size for half the price....Really good, but I probably won't go back. Our server was very friendly and helpful.

Bad Service, Bad Food, No Music!
Submitted Monday, February 12, 2007 - 1:17am [Dine in]

My fiance and I made reservations at this Gastown location for my birthday. We were dissapointed to be sat at a tiny table in the middle of the room, we had no pivacy and could barely hear each other speak over the noise in the restaurant. We waited a good 20 minutes to be noticed by our server, who took our drink order which took about 15 more minutes to arrive. Our food took forever to come and was reallly not very good at all. Very bland and dull. We made reservations at Rossini's mostly due to it's live jazz which was supposed to start half an hour after our arrival, the pianist, whom I will say was amazing, started a half an hour late, played 2 songs and stopped. Overall we were very dissapointed with our experience and would not return.

Worst Service Ever.
Submitted Monday, February 12, 2007 - 1:05am [Dine in]

I was at La Spagetteria a few years prior to my last visit (Valentines day 2006) and had an amazing experience and some of the best pasta I had ever tasted. Last visit however was a nightmare. We had reservations, yet were still made to wait 20 minutes. Once finally sat in a tight corner between a wall and another table we were completly ignored for over 35 minutes. The waiter for our section approached the table next to ours (literally a foot from our table) 3 or 4 times in these 35 minutes, but never bothered to simply turn around and offer to take our drink order. Finally my fiance got up and asked if anyone would be helping us, 40 minutes for a drink is simply not acceptable. The food was very sub-par compared to the first time I dined there. Definatly would not return here again.

Worst food I have ever been served
Submitted Monday, February 12, 2007 - 12:51am [Dine in]

I would simply never reccomend this restaurant to anyone. The location is terrible, the parking awful and the food attrocious. My fiance ordered spaghetti with a tomato sauce, the most bland thing either of us had ever tasted. I ordered the pasta primavera. The vegetables were clearly from a bag of mixed frozen veg, terrible. I was completly insulted to be served such a dish, and expected to pay for it. Steer clear of this guarenteed dissapointment!
