Great Night Out!
Submitted Monday, March 2, 2009 - 5:44am [Dine in]

Would highy recommend this Keg! We met some friends here the other night and truly enjoyed a great dining experience! Our server was excellent, (food was a little slow, as it was super busy) was always checking up with us to make sure drinks were topped up, etc. Baked Brie and Pesto appy was amazing! All our parties steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare, as a vegetarian I really enjoyed the grilled tomato and bocconcini flatbread, and the house salad.....overall a really nice evening, would for sure recommend this location!

Great Little Mexican Spot!
Submitted Thursday, January 15, 2009 - 6:51pm [Dine in]

We've dined at Luna Loca twice now, both times have been really enjoyable experiences. The service has always been friendly and efficient, the ambiance makes you feel as though you are in a little cantina, and the food has been fantastic. The vegetarian fajitas were great, nice mix of veggies served sizzling hot, with rice, refried beans and all the fixings on the side, it was so much food I was only able to finish half, would be a good dish to share! We really enjoyed the fresh made chips and salsa at the table, and the sangria was delicious! We'll absolutly be back next time we're craving Mexican!

Decided to give Pasta Polo Another Chance!
Submitted Tuesday, December 16, 2008 - 2:10am [Dine in]

Because this restaurant used to be one of our favorites we decided to give it another try almost a year after our previous visit. We'd stopped frequenting Pasta Polo due to the poor service and declining quality of food, our last two visits proved much better! Service was excellent, attentive and quick. Pasta was cooked perfectly, sauces were well seasoned and tasty. Portions are still huge, my fiance and I usually order an appy and share a pasta dish, as two entrees is simply too much food! This restaurant has definetly redeemed itself in our books....hope they keep it up!

Finally Decided to Try Dinner...
Submitted Tuesday, December 16, 2008 - 1:37am [Dine in]

As mentioned in my previous review we had only ever been to Rusty's for an appy and a hockey game. We decided to try this pub out for dinner the other night. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. My fiance ordered the Steak Sandwich which was a good cut of meat and cooked perfectly medium rare. I ordered the Vegetarian fajitas, served with warm flour tortillas, rice, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sizziling sauteed onions and peppers.....an excellent value for $8.99, the dish was huge (I ended up sharing!) Really quite a good meal for pub fare! Personally, we're not huge country and western fans (hence the ambiance rating) but with the pubs more than sufficient number of T.V.'s we'd definetly return for a hockey game and dinner.

Me-N-Ed's Pizza Parlor20270 Fraser Highway, Langley
A Good Find!
Submitted Saturday, September 27, 2008 - 12:33am [Dine in]

My fiance and I quite enjoyed our first Me-N-Ed's experience. The menu offers creative and unique ingredient combinations, a variety of sauces and types of crusts. Lot's of options for a vegetarian....which is always great. We ordered the "Ed Bread" to start which was quite good, could have been warmer, but otherwise well prepared (especially for the garlic lover!) We tried "The Soprano" without the capicollo (we and added marinated artichoke hearts instead.) The Light crispy garlic, herb crust, fresh bocconcini cheese, julienned basil and sweet roma tomatos, were really very tasty, the pizza was not smothered with an excessive amount of cheese, keeping it light and fresh. Being a family restaurant the atmosphere was a little loud for our taste, we would however definitely try Me-N-Eds again for take out or delivery.

Lampliter Gallery Cafe9213 Glover St, Langley
A Decent Spot in Fort Langley
Submitted Friday, August 29, 2008 - 3:05am [Dine in]

This was our first visit to The Lampliter Cafe in Fort Langley. A very quaint and cozy establishment. Our server was both attentive and friendly. The Tomato and Bocconcini Salad was fantastic. The sweet vine ripened tomatos, fresh bocconcini cheese and marinated artichoke hearts, dressed in citrus and olive oil made an excellent appetizer. Perfect to share. My fiance had the Sesame Crusted Mahi Mahi, which he quite enjoyed. The fish was cooked well and the Yukon potato strudel was a unique and enjoyable side dish. I had the Cavatappi Pasta tossed with Seasonal Vegetables, Garlic and Tomatoes. The dish was good. Pasta was cooked well, which is a must for me when I eat pasta out. Vegetables were diced kind of small, making them somewhat unrecognizabe. I think the dish would have been more rustic Tuscan style with larger pieces of veg. The chunky tomatoes were delicious, and obviously of good Italian quality. Pasta was served with a side of "kraft" style parmesan cheese which was an instant dissapointment, fresh Parmigiano Reggiano would have made a world of difference to the dish! Not a bad experience, and not a fantasticly memorable one! Would give the Lampliter another try!

Not Bad at All
Submitted Saturday, July 26, 2008 - 9:43pm [Dine in]

We went for dinner at Brown's on a Saturday night and had quite an enjoyable experience. All martinis are $2.00 off on Friday and Saturdays, can't remember the name of the one I had but it was delicious. Service was very attentive and friendly, very nice atmosphere. Food was decent, not the best pasta I've ever had, but very acceptable, portions were reasonable, more than enough for my appetite, perhaps order an appy for larger eaters. Overall, good night out, would definatly visit again!

Porto Fino Restaurant9493 120th St., Delta
Excellent Pasta..Overall Good Experience!
Submitted Wednesday, July 16, 2008 - 12:03am [Dine in]

We decided to try Porto Fino after it was highly recommended to us. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and quickly seated. The interior of the restaurant is typical of many greek / mediterranean establishments, live plants and photos of Italy, Greece, etc. Our server was friendly and helpful. My fiance ordered the Torellini Calabrese which was quite good, lots of quality Italian sausage in a delightful tomato sauce. I ordered the Penne alla Greca (penne in a garlic cream sauce tossed with feta cheese, artichoke hearts and olives - I opted to sub sundried tomatos instead of the olives) the dish was great, the pasta cooked well (I can't stand overcooked pasta) the sauce very traditionaly Italian, unlike so many cream sauces restaurants serve here, excellet. Huge portions! The only complaints we had about this restaurant was all the upcharges. Pastas were both served with a green salad, our server informed us we could have a caesar instead, without informing us there was a $3.00 charge for the substitution - which we realized upon recieving our bill. Also, when presenting us with the pita bread which also came with our pastas we were asked if we would like hummus or tzitki for dipping. We ordered the tzitki, which again we were not aware was a $3.50 charge until we got our bill. Substituting the olives for sundried tomatos in my pasta dish also cost us $2.00, which was a little frusterating. Overall, would definatley reccomend this restaurant just be aware of all extra charges!

Good Service....At least
Submitted Wednesday, July 2, 2008 - 12:47am [Dine in]

We have been to East Side Mario's a few times now, and have suprisingly received decent service and food, despite the restaurants many poor reviews. Our last visit was however, not the greatest. My fiance and I ordered a half price pizza appy (discounted with the purchase of two drinks, for whatever reason) while we waited for the remainder of our party of four to arrive. The appetizer took about 30 minutes, when it finally did arrive we discovered hair in the pizza. Our server did promptly apoligize and the pizza was removed from the bill. Our mains took about 40 minutes, (we were one of maybe four tables in the whole restaurant, this seemed a little excessive.) My stuffed pasta dish was okay, asparagus was tough, but ok.....until I discovered a piece of plastic in it. My fiances Chicken Parmesan was small and sort of resembled a hockey puck, looked nothing like what was pictured on the menu....seemed like a bit of a rip off for $17.99, especially when they advertise the dish as "a larger portion upon demand." Service was okay, our waiter did grab my $7.00 drink and remove it from the table while it was still 2/3 full, by the time I'd noticed it he was long gone, a little frusterating, but overall not bad service. Don't know that we'll be back to East Side Mario's anytime soon?!

Very Pleasant Second Dining Experience
Submitted Thursday, June 19, 2008 - 11:53pm [Dine in]

Our previous visit to the Cactus Club was quite acceptable, this experience was even better. We were warmly greeted by the hostess, informed our table would be about ten minutes, and were promptly offered seats at the bar to enjoy a cocktail while we waited. The bellini was excellent. We were seated quickly. The service was great, very attentive and helpful. The food was delicious. My fiance ordered the 9oz Blackened Creole Striploin, the meat was cooked perfectly, the creole butter was excellent, and the seasonal vegetables were grilled and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the Spinach and Artichoke Quesadilla, which was great stuffed with peppers and feta and served with a spicy yogurt sauce, awesome. Overall a very pleasant evening, would definatly return. Really nice wine menu, lots of B.C. selections.

A Fairly Typical Boston Pizza Experience
Submitted Thursday, April 3, 2008 - 11:47pm [Dine in]

We rarely eat at Boston Pizza, as it is usually a less than appealing experience, inexperienced servers / staff, mediocre at best food and constant screwups with orders. This visit wasn't much different. We only decided to dine here because we were hungry and the our first choice restaurant had an hour and a half wait. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes, service was very average, my fiance ordered the baked lasagna ( a bunch of ruffled noodles stuffed in a bowl with tomato sauce and smothered with grotesque amounts of mozzerella cheese.....certaintly not lasagna) I ordered a Tuscan Pasta special and received a pizza?!! Not sure what happened there? So ended up waiting about 20 more minutes to receive the correct dish....Overall....not good, I certaintly don't reccomend Boston Pizza for more than grabbing a martini, an appy and watching a game.....personally I'm not even sure we'll return to do that!

Good Food, Good Service.... Quite Pricey
Submitted Thursday, April 3, 2008 - 11:18pm [Dine in]

We decided to try Joey Tomato's last time we were in Coquitlem for lunch, as neither of us had ever been to this particular location. The service was really good, very efficient and helpful. We both ordered the Evil Jungle Noodle Salad, it was very good, but I'm not sure any salad is worth $14.95 (especially because I'm a vegetarian and ordered no chicken.) Overall a very pleasant experience, think If I returned I would go for dinner and order an entree for roughly the same price, maybe a few dollars more. $40.00 seems a little expensive for two salads and two waters.

Great Spanakopita
Submitted Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 2:18am [Dine in]

We dined at Kostas for lunch recently and quite enjoyed it. We both ordered the Spanakopita lunch entree, delicious. The roasted potatos and greek salads were awesome, I do agree with the previous review about the rice, a little overcooked and bland, will probably ask for more greek salad instead of rice next time we visit, but over all very good. Service was excellent and the decor was quite typical of any greek restaurant.

Good Mexican!
Submitted Saturday, March 22, 2008 - 2:07am [Dine in]

This little Mexican restaurant is one of our favorite spots during the summer. The patio and a glass of their awesome Sangria is perfect. This is a very traditional family run Mexican restaurant....and it's reflected in the food....huge menu, lots to choose from, we've been many times with friends and family, and never had a complaint. The fresh homemade chips and salsa are fantastic......definatley our favorite place for Mexican.

Amazing Homemade Ukranine!
Submitted Saturday, February 23, 2008 - 11:37pm [Dine in]

This is a great little spot for awesome, authentic Ukranine food. My Grandmother is Ukranine, and we've been enjoying her traditional fare since we were kids, I must say this is the next best thing! The perogies are delicious, the service was so warm and friendly, the chef even came out to see how everything was. Though it's not much in the way of ambiance, it's definatley worth a try!

Great Service....for a change.
Submitted Saturday, February 9, 2008 - 12:06am [Dine in]

We'd pretty much given up on all Boston Pizzas, and only ended up at this one because our restaurant of choice had a 40 minute wait for a table. While nearly every other BP experience we've had is very comparable to the review below......terrible, we were quite pleasently suprised by our latest trip to this location. Our server was great, super helpful, friendly and attenive, and for once our food actually came out correctly (so rare at BP, especially if you're attempting to modify anything!) Overall, alot better than we'd anticipated. Still quite skeptical of Boston Pizza however!

Solid Italian Food
Submitted Thursday, December 27, 2007 - 12:37am [Dine in]

My fiance and I decided to try this little restaurant as we absolutley love anything Italian! The owners are from Italy and are so friendly and inviting. We lived in Tuscany for a year and I can definatly say this little place has that same quaint family run feeling as so many Italian trattoria do. We both fell in love with the spinach tortellini and creamy pesto dish, and enjoy it everytime we go. (I've yet to try anything else....but this dish is great!) The Bruschetta topping is awesome (if you love garlic!) My only complaint is that I wish they served a crusty tuscan bread instead of the not so Italian French bread they use.

Great Pizza
Submitted Thursday, December 27, 2007 - 12:13am [Dine in]

We really like Flying wedge. The staff at this location are so friendly and helpful. Its a great place to go for pizza by the slice. They offer 6 different pizzas of the day (usually at least two of which are vegetarian) costing $4.95 each with a medium drink...very reasonable. The toppings are unique, catering to a little more of gormet palatte. Definatly try the Gusto Pesto...awesome.
