I got the feeling our business wasn't overly cared about, slow to bring drinks, no personality, and wanted to rush us out (dropped off a bill with out asking if we wanted another drink). I think this place might be just after the tourist business so they dont feel the need to hire and train good wait staff. It is a nice looking place and has a great location, I will probably try it again in the winter when the tourist season is over to see if things change.
I have lived in Victoria now for about 10 months, and love it. I would however say that the restaurant scene can be a little lacking when it comes to fun places to eat and hang out... Until now. Browns seems to have hit the nail on the head, great food, good drinks, freindly management, hot waitresses, but most of all a fun and comforatable atmosphere. Nothing beets this place on a Friday night, or any night for that matter. I am not sure if people in Victoria follow DineHere, but if you do take my word for it and check out Browns Socialhouse.
This is a great new little Sushi place just on 200th st in Langley. If you enjoy very friendly service and fantastic food then you will love this little treasure. Not the greatest place to dine in, but for take out you can't beat it.
It has quickly become a favorite of ours as well as a lot of our friends.
What the f***. I have never been as disappointed in a dining experience as I was at East Side Mario's. 10 min for the waitress to greet us,10 min to get our drinks and over 45min to see our food. On top of that, washrooms were filthy, food was dismal at best and the server could have cared less about us. In fact when I asked how much longer for the meal she replied "Wow, someone is in a hurry" in a very rude tone.
I could understand if they were busy but there was only 2 other tables in the whole restaurant, and now I see why.
I have tried the location in Calgary and it was fantastic, not sure what goes on here... might be the management.
Last time I was in the area I tried the Montana's and it was excellent, that's where we'll be next time.
