Cedar Cottage Coffee House1303 Kingsway, Vancouver
Coffee anyone.
Submitted Tuesday, March 30, 2010 - 8:20pm [Dine in]

I wanted to try something different than franchise, the Cedar cottage coffee house is not to far from my work. So this I decided I will try.
I decided on a sandwich brie, apple and walnuts. Perfectly toasted, it was very good and creamy. I will definitly to back, a lot of sweet cakes are waiting for me to have a bite.

So romantic
Submitted Saturday, March 28, 2009 - 10:58am [Dine in]

We spent a romantic evening at the five Sails. The view is gorgeous, and the restaurant has the feeling of softness. It's really romantic.
The service was lovely. A speciel thanks to the sommelier and hostess. I loved the presentation of the food and the taste hummmmmm! The dessert was my favorit, a delicious combination of chocolate and banana. It's original too.
A perfect restaurant for anniversary.

Valentin day
Submitted Saturday, March 28, 2009 - 10:50am [Dine in]

I know it's a bit late, but I was visiting Europe for a while.
I'm back and can enjoy Vancouver's restaurants again.
It's not very often we go out for Valentin, it's too busy and expensive.
That's one of the reason we decided on Saveur for the menu and the price. We had a lovely night, nice food and good service.
I'm sure we will be back very soon, I suppose you noticed I made a couple of review already for this restaurant, I just enjoy it very much.

Rim Rock Cafe And Oyster Bar2117 Whistler Rd., Whistler
Too expensive
Submitted Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 3:27pm [Dine in]

Went at the Rim Rock cafe for dinner and will not be back, I explain
Good food but nothing fantastic: I took the beef tenderloin that was just that, a beef tenderloin. My wifr took the caribou which was OK but nothing great.
The wine list is good, had the foxtrot pinot noir from BC, very good.
The service was also good and attentive.
I guess the only bad thing about this restaurant is the bill! I eat often in fine dining restaurant both here and in France and the Rimrock cafe was not worth $400 for 2 people!

Good DOV 2009
Submitted Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 3:20pm [Dine in]

Was there for DOV 2009 and was nicely surprised, the food was very good for $38 and the service was good too. Nice decor too
Nothing bad to say except for the wine list (very small with no old world wines whatsoever).
I will be back to check out the regular menu and recommand this restaurant to everybody

Gastropod1938 W. 4th Avenue, Vancouver
disapointed
Submitted Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 3:14pm [Dine in]

Went to Gastropod just before DOV 2009 began and for my surprise was offered only the DOV menu (even though it wasn't begun yet!). Would have been OK if the food was good, but it was just average (the pork belly too fatty and the chocolate fondant bland).
I think they should let their customers know which menu is in effect in any given night!

lovely evening
Submitted Monday, February 9, 2009 - 11:10am [Dine in]

On wednesday night, I took my wife for dinner at the Dining Room at Bridges and were nicely surprised. The food was excellent and the service was very good, of course the ambiance with this kind of view is outstanding. They have a pre fix menu for $38 for 3 courses which is very well priced for this kind of restaurant. Just a lovely evening throughout.
P.S: I learned that night that every friday is half price on the whole wine list, definitly will be back to check this out!

William Tell, The765 Beatty Street, Vancouver
very good restaurant
Submitted Wednesday, March 26, 2008 - 10:21am [Dine in]

went to the William Tell for dinner last week and I was very pleased with the overall experience.
First of all, I though I was back in time and in europe with this restaurant as the kind of service, the decor (which is a bit dated) remained me of France.
Second of all the food was very good, I had the beef tartare as entree (made in front of you) and was very good.
The service is attentive and professional (even though one server was whistling in the dining room!).
I will be back for the memories of France.

good restaurant to go
Submitted Tuesday, March 25, 2008 - 10:52am [Dine in]

Went to Chambar last week and the food was good, the service was good but the tables are too close to each other.
l'assiette du chasseur (venison) is very good with nice flavors.
mussels are a very good idea to share.
Chambar is a good restaurant, we will be back again.

Good but too pricey
Submitted Friday, March 21, 2008 - 12:24pm [Dine in]

Excellent restaurant but for almost $600 for 2 expected a lot more.
The service was very good and attentive.
The food was also very good but nothing special and very small.
West is a restaurant for special occasion but nothing else.

Dined for the first time at le crocodile and let me assure you that Michel Jacob's reputation is well deserved.
The food was spectacular: ris de veau as entree was to die for, dessert was fantastic.
Service was prompt, nice and professional.
