(2.9) (3) (2.8) (2.8) (3.3)I've only had one thing here and it is the spinach salad. Now usually spinach salad comes with a raspberry vinaigrette which I do not like. Here at the Red Onion, I don't know what's in it but it's creamy and ever so delicious. You can ask for extra bacon (for an extra charge of course) to be put on it which totally makes the salad in my opinion, and it comes with crispy thin sliced bagels with butter! And at the end of the meal with the bill they bring you a whole red onion. Very cute! My husband LOVES their double dog. It is the only reason we go to Kerrisdale and we live in Burnaby!
Cristo's is our favourite and ultimate Greek Food Fix destination. The service is good, the food, awesome and the ambiance is very Greek with the music, plants and Greek decor. I have ordered various food items, all which were delicious: the spanakopita, the kalamari, the beef and chicken souvlaki dinners. My husband always orders the roast lamb dinner which is cooked perfectly the way he likes, and although I don't eat lamb I must say it always looks so succulent and tender. I have never been disappointed at Cristo's and hopefully they will never change!
Too bad they didn't put as much effort into the food as they did into the decor. It's a beautiful and interesting restaurant visually speaking, and the ambiance is quite nice. It was a little too dark for me, but that didn't bother me. What bothered me was the crab cakes I ordered, which were so over fried I couldn't finish it. My husband's rack of lamb was dry, my cousin's salmon was dry and rice pilaf tasteless. My cousin's daughter ordered some tomatoes and they were the whitest tomatoes I had ever seen. Very disappointing.
Felico's has a beautiful exterior, and the ambiance inside was quite nice as well. I had the prawn and scallop souvlaki dinner, which was quite satisfactory, although my husband's and cousin's roast lamb was a little on the dry side. But all in all, it was a very pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff.
