If you can handle the lack of service, the food is excellent. The General Tso's Chicken is amazing, as is the Tan Tan noodle soup and Ginger Beef.
The entrance smells like a sewer from the fish tank.
Every server in there looks very disheveled.
Have been there a number of times and the food is as consistent at the service is poor. Would I go back? Of course! I can handle poor service for great food, and it's now become a joke to see how bad it can be.
We went here on a whim and was told it would be an hour wait. Since I was ready to start gnawing on my arm, I almost left. I guess a rush left, as a table opened up for us, so that was great. We ordered pops, and were disgusted to find that they were RC cola. No huge deal, but next time I will stick with water. The meals at our table were quite reasonably prices: $12, 16, 21. Mine got weighed and...$28! That's okay, as I had a load of food, enough for a small Mongolian village. I ate it all, but should have stopped halfway. The food was great, but the key is in adding and combining the right ingredients. Smoked salmon is just wrong in a stir-fry as someone did at our table. I did not care much for the wraps, but other people at our table really enjoyed them. The decor is very nice, and the waitress was okay. I'd definitely go back.
This is a great place for Maritimers, or wannabes, to hang out for a night of fun. The place is overcrowded though, so good luck getting a seat.
The ATM downstairs ripped me off. Somehow my card info was gleaned from this machine and over $3000 was stolen from my account. This was 3 years ago, and I believe the Russian crime ring has since been caught.
I have been here three times. Each time has been fine, but the service has always been slow. Also, I have to wait quite a while for my meal each time. The food is decent, but there is much bette Greek food out there. The location is covenenient, and parking is good.
A few year ago, Martini's had the best pizza around, IMHO. The last few times I have gone the crust has not been nearly as good...actually soggy. I only ever get the pizza, so can't really comment on anything else. The few salads I have had were very good, but the Greek salad had too much onion as filler. This place is always extremely busy, you will always have to wait, especially weekends. I miss the flamboyantly gay Filipino host. It was worth it just to see him parade up and down the restaurant.
I have been here a number of times. It was always very good. I got the Asiago chicken which was excellent. Service has always been quite good. The view is very nice. A little pricy, but considering where it is, understandable. My only complaint is that it is always very busy and sometimes noisy.
I have been here a number of times with co-workers. We have always had to wait for a table. The seats are quite cramped, and the upstairs is very hot in the summer.
The sushi is very good, as are all the lunch boxes. Prices are reasonable.
Service is quite slow, and most of my servers have had a very poor command of English.
The decor in the OSF is nice, but the food is very mediocre. The only thing they really do well is cook their pasta al dente. For similar prices I would go to Anducci's, with better food.
I do like the woodwork that is done in the restaurant. It adds a nice touch.
I had the worst pasta of my life here. I'm not sure how you can screw up stuffed ravioli with a rose sauce. Chef Boyardee is better. The pasta itself was okay, but the sauce was simply some canned tomato sauce with some milk in it. Service was fine. No real ambience.
Rugby Club has been a fave of my wife and I for a few years now. Their Black Satin chicken and Sticky Chili chicken are excellent. Their carb dishes are also very good, with decent size portions. The steak I had there once was as tough as leather. The front hostesses are as bright as a sack of hammers. The drinks are cheap, but smaller than some places.
I would like to say I have had sand in my sauteed mushrooms twice in one meal. I sent the first batch back after getting enough grit to sand a fence. The second batch was almost as bad. They did not charge us for them, which was good.
This place is worth is just for the view. After dinner, you have to walk in the park, by the totem poles. It is a breathtaking view of the city. I used to run here when I was at SFU. The food is very good, and so is the service. I found some of their food overspiced, not spicy, but overpowering of a couple of ingredients, mainly rosemary.
My wife and I went here for a special occasion. The ambiance is very romantic and relaxing. The service was excellent and friendly. The food was very good...all three courses we had. It is pricy, but I don't mind paying for a good overall dining experience.
We went here while on a weekend trip. The food was very good. I had your typical pub fare, burgers and fries. It was very good. Excellent selection of beers as well. The restaurant has a nice view of the city. Nice place for a casual lunch.
As my headline says. This place serves food similar to the Keg. They just do it much much better, for the same price, or cheaper. I have been to the ones in Kelowna, Prince George, Kamloops, and Victoria and they have all been excellent. Finally a place that knows how to cook a steak without Gotham-like prices.
I have had three of the best dining experiences of my life here. It was gustatory ecstasy from start to finish. Each course was amazing, very high quality food, with excellent presentation. This place serves high fine dining, and moderate prices. My wife still claims it was the best meal of her life. I went alone the next day, when I was on business I liked it so much.
I went there while on business in Whistler. The food was amazing. I had the steak which was excellent. For dessert I have the creme brulee, which was also very good. It was nice and quiet, which I like. Service was very good.
If you enjoy being left alone while dining, then this is the place for you. You have to beg for water, utensils, any beverages, extra napkins etc. The food is fine. The back entrance smells like an old rotten fish mixed with mothballs. I gag every time I go in. Luckily I have found a few other places that are better.
This place is always overcrowded and noisy. The food however has been very good. I get "The Hulk" pasta and it's extremely good. The service is as to be expected when being served by teens. One thing you should not get is the desserts, they are awful.
I have been here a number of times over the years. It has been consistently good. The curried chicken w/ roti is particularly good. The service is okay, but not great. It is a family run business and the waiters can get a bit lacksdaisical.
I have done take-out from here about a dozen times. Even though it is just a bunch of teens working there, the food has been consistently good. Nothing fancy, just fresh clean tasting sushi. It is however always crowded and the few seat they have are cramped.
