Crackle Creme245 Union Street, Vancouver
Yummy treat
Submitted Monday, March 2, 2015 - 11:06am [Dine in]

The food here is absolutely delicious! Flavors are incredible! Its certainly a treat to visit Crackle Crème (pun intended). I also love the way the place has been decorated. The style is sleek, modern, and clean. Although it is not extravagant, it feels a bit sophisticated yet refreshing. The café is small so don’t go with a large crowd, but it’s never too busy so the small space is not a problem even if you go with just one more person.

Akbar's Own Indian Restaurant1905 West Broadway, Vancouver
Indian food for lunch time
Submitted Sunday, March 1, 2015 - 10:02am [Dine in]

My girlfriend and I came here a little after 1 pm on a Wednesday and had no trouble getting a seat. We found this place while passing by Broadway and trying to settle on a good place to get some lunch. When we arrived, there were already a couple of tables occupied which was an encouraging sign. We both decided to get the lunch specials: a curry of your choice accompanied by rice, naan and a salad. For $11.00, it is not bad. The fact that we got to choose from a variety of options for lunch was good. I went for the lamb curry and the GF choose the butter chicken. Good choices both. As promised we got the best bang for our buck, and it was so tasty. This is yet another great Indian restaurant with delicious food. I’ll definitely go back for lunch one day and maybe even try more of their dishes later on for dinner.

Really good Hainanese chicken
Submitted Sunday, August 10, 2014 - 8:59pm [Dine in]

I would have to say that Prata Man has one of the best hainanese chicken in Richmond. I usually come here and no other place when I want some hainanese chicken. Everything, from the chicken, to the chili sauce to the ginger is delicious, and the rice compliments it perfectly. Other than that, their satay and laksa are also good. One thing I didn't like was that the portions were much smaller now.

Oh, another thing: a lot of people complain about the setting and while I partly agree with them, the taste of the food overrides everything. The place looks kind of old but you can order take-out from them.

Kintaro Ramen788 Denman Street, Vancouver
There's no other place for Ramen than Kintaro
Submitted Tuesday, August 5, 2014 - 3:39pm [Dine in]

Kintaro Ramen gives you the perfect combination of good food at a good price. It is the place I go to devotedly if I want ramen. The shio ramen is unparalleled - it comes with green onions, bean sprouts and BBQ pork. The place is kind of crowded and many times you have to share table with others, but I don't mind. A lot of people complain that it gets too hot inside but its like they say, you get what you pay for!

Blue Chip Cookies6138 Student Union Boulevard, Vancouver
Really good cookies
Submitted Saturday, June 14, 2014 - 3:13pm [Dine in]

Blue Chip Cookies probably has the best cookies in all of UBC and the area around it. There are many options to choose from, and even the vegan options are good. It’s a great place to enjoy a snack during a busy day (its in the SUB at UBC btw).

The staff is quick and at times, friendly. The only problem is that it is always filled with students and there is a long line waiting to order, especially during the late and early parts of the day when people are going to class.

Good Indian food
Submitted Thursday, June 12, 2014 - 3:40pm [Dine in]

Handi is a complete package of an Indian restaurant in the sense that it offers good food AND good service. The prices were a little high for me but then I am not much of a restaurant person.

I ordered the eggplant and the chickpeas with rice (I don't remember their real names). They were quite delicious. What was good was that the chickpeas were spicy enough to satisfy my tastebuds. As for the service, I have no complaints. The people who work there are really nice; they kept on refilling our glasses throughout our dinner.

Great variety of food close to UBC
Submitted Wednesday, June 11, 2014 - 12:15pm [Dine in]

The Delly has a little bit of everything, whether it is sandwiches, fruits, chips, or full meals such as curry with rice. There is something for everyone, and for all occasions. It is also cheap, which is perfect for the thousands of students on a budget who stay close by UBC like myself. I buy food from The Delly quite often; the people who work there have always been nice to me and the service has always been quick. My favorite thing to eat from here are the chickpeas with rice, it is VERY delicious.

Pita Pit, The5717 Dalhousie Rd, Vancouver
Good food, bad service
Submitted Wednesday, June 11, 2014 - 11:16am [Take-out]

The Pita Pit is good for students in the sense that it not only tastes good, but it is also cheap, served quickly, and practically located on campus.

I mean, one pita bread with its stuffing is also enough to fill you up. It is also a healthier alternative to other fast food restaurants around such as McDonald’s (which is practically next door to it), A&W, and Triple O’s.

My only complaint about the Pita Pit would be about the service. It really needs to improve. When I went, the guy who was attending did not seem too happy to answer my questions. He kept chatting with his friends when he was supposed to be working.
