awful food
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 8:52pm [Dine in]

The people were nice but the food was not good. My fiancee and I order their specialty banh hoi and chao long. The grilled pork and the shrimp was slightly burnt. They didn't have alot of vegetable to go with the bank hoi. The chao long (congee) had a burning taste to it too. How can you overcook congee? My brother order their special rice combo. The same thing with his grilled pork was burnt on the outside but the inside it was spoiled. The menu was very limited. The restaurant was also very small. I would not recommend this restaurant.

tastless bubble tea
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 8:25pm [Dine in]

My niece and I order fresh mango bubble tea and it was not good. It was all watery. We couldn't taste the mango. My nephew order the ice cream mango bubble tea and it was not good either. The bubble tea were not cold, it was kind of warm so made the drink worse. The booth in the Metropolis mall look nice and trendy but the drinks were bad.

good exotic food
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 8:16pm [Dine in]

This is one the restaurant I recommend for exotic food choices. The location is kind of ghetto looking. The parking is small. There were too many tables and the way that it was arranged in the restaurand made it cramped. The people was friendly and gave good recommendation. I would definitely come back here for dinner but not during peak time.

Delicious Moon Cakes
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 8:02pm [Dine in]

Maxim bakery is my favorite bakery for moon cakes. Every year I drive to the Richmond (more selection) location and Burnaby location to buy several boxes of the moon cakes. They have a lot of variety type of moon cakes and other pastries. My favorite moon cakes are the Thap Cam (mixed nuts), Vi Ca (shark fin), and Bao Ngu (albalone). The people was very friendly and helpful. They gave a good discount for large purchases.

Excellent and Wonderful View
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 7:45pm [Dine in]

I really like this restaurant for it's excellent service, incredible food for the price, & outstanding view. The people are very nice and gave great recommendation on food choices. They didn't rush us to leave after our meal. They had live music which was great. I would recommend to make reservation for the best sit. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food but not honest
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 7:36pm [Dine in]

The food was good but it was so expensive (at least $5 a dish for dim sum if arrive after morning special). The outside of the restaurant didn't look pleasant but the inside of the restaurant look really nice and clean. Beware for foreigner if you didn't exchange your money into Canadian money, make sure that you check with the currency exchange rate before you do head up to Canada. On the way to Canada, I check the value of US dollar against Canadian kudos and it was almost the same value (US dollar was a bit higher value the Canadian kudos). Our bill for our dim sum was $60 Canadian money for a party of 5 people. We had US dollar in cash. They charged $89 for paying US cash. I told the server and manager that the exchange rate was the same and to check with the system but they didn't care. I would never go back to that restaurant because the server and manager wasn't friendly and not willing to help us and not honest. We asked some questions to some of the food item listed in the dim sum menu but since they didn't speak English well, they did ignored us. We just order the usually such as sum mai, phoenix feet, and beef tripe.

nice people but awful food
Submitted Thursday, August 21, 2008 - 7:11pm [Dine in]

The people at the restaurant were very nice and pleasant to talk to. The food was a different story. The food was not good. I read some the reviews regarding to the best bun in town. My fiancee and I order their speicial bun and banh hoi (which is their specialty);we didn't finished our food even though we were starving. The menu didn't have a lot of variety of Vietnamese or any unique entrees. It was a typical Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant was small;it was hard to get parking because it was located on the main road (intersection of Knight ST and Kingsway).
