never again
Submitted Wednesday, September 25, 2013 - 5:21pm [Dine in]

If this place didn't seem so busy I would of never tried it. I don't know why it is like this. The food was warm at best. Every thing taste like it was precooked and sat in fridge only to be warmed up. Never going back. As well as portions is very small compared to price. This isn't downtown.

we went here thinking it was bridges, but since we were at grandvill island and never been to dockside we decided to try. well every one at the table agreed to never come here again.

food was okay.. we had a red seal chef with us. the pasta was under cooked. mash was blended with yesterdays and todays mash, and fish was all watery

service well... there was no service. never asked us if we wanted any drinks, afetr we got menus we waited 17 minutes for the server to come back. no refill on water

value was no good due to crappy food.

view is amanzing.

please refer to the swiss chalet for the 1st time

upon arrival we were greated promptly, the lady said for 2 but we siad we would like take out and asked what we would like to order, we asked to see the menu and she said sorry.
after ordering/getting home, we realized the portion sizes were really small for the price we paid, compared to other places we been to.
but we said whatever and started eating. the food was really SALTY, just like swiss chalet, everyone agreed too. i had a lot of salty food but that calamari was really salty as well as the rice.

Poor Location.
Submitted Saturday, October 10, 2009 - 11:06pm [Dine in]

first time trying, it was very hard to find it, i was located inside a mall... go figure.

the bad

apon arrival, we stood standing for quite some time before some on realized we had been standing there for more then a minute

the server took my girl friends plate away with out asking, and took the lemon away too with it

and when we finished our food, we sat for quite awhile before any one came to our table to ask if were done and asked if we would like any thing eles/the bill.

the good

besides the statement made above, service was excellent. Food price for value was just okay, not good but not bad.

food tastes good.

stephos is AMAZING! every one knows, line ups super long every day but worth the wait IMO BUT the last 2 times i went... i got calamari dinner... one time... it tasted like it was frozen... and the 2ed time it was WAY OVER COOKED.

i asked the server if they had a new cook... she told me no.. so i don't understand.

do they freeze pre-cooked calamari now?

Parking was good, lots of parking on Hastings, walked in at dinner time, it was pretty dead, only one other group was there when we walked in, after we ordered there was 3 additional groups, the food took a while to come - probably only 1 cook in the kitchen just the the only server. the prices for the value would be pretty expensive if not for the 2 for $20 special.

if not for the special, i would have gave the Value rating a 2 "two"

water was only topped up once. the whole night(when she came to check up on the food)

did not even get a potato to go with the mushy stew i ordered beef souvlaki off the 2 for 20 special

Sub to Cesar salad was $2, a little steep i think considering other places are free, or $.75-$1.75

washroom was not tidy and looked dirty.

after leaving i asked for a business card, was told they had none .

me and my girl friend try a new place every week.
this was back in 06 when we tried this place.
we both ordered burgers. my girl friends burger had this white hair in her burger, so we told the server and they brought it back and made her a new one. he asked "would u still like your fries or bring new ones out when u get the burger" she decided to keep it.
then when she went to eat the fires, there was white hair all over it it.... so we got new fries.. the new ones had the same "white" hair...
the server was alright value felt kind of crappy with all the white hair the music was really loud and place was dark

I've been here a few times. thinking ill give it another try. maybe this time will be better. thats never the case it seems to be the same every time. The drinks take forever to come even when there is no one in the place. This is not only one time but ever time. When there are a few people in there. it literally takes like 5 minutes to make a drink.
The Very last time i was in there i ordered the lychee black tea. The lady asked me if i wanted the tea form or the real stuff, i said real. so off they went to make the drink. after receiving it. a minute later u can see the drink separate the juices from the foam. I decided to watch it. after another minute i realized half of it was foam the other half, ice and my drink. I feel ripped off. i paid 3.75+ for 1/4th of a cup.

The 2ed last time i was there i asked the lady if i can mod my drink, i don't care ill even pay for it. she told me no. i i asked her why and i told her ill even pay for it. she reply's she cant because she just cant.

I mean what BBT place doesn't let u mod your drink..... ive been to a lot... and as i recall... all of them let me, they just charge me extra on top.

This was the 5th time and the last time i will be visiting this store.

rude and disrespectful, never again.
Submitted Saturday, November 29, 2008 - 3:37am [Dine in]

Before the new "management" took over, this place was A+ i would recommend it to any one, and me and my friends came to eat here every week on Saturday after work.

like some reviews that have been written before me, once is enough with this new management, they are rude and disrespectful.

My grandma was hungry and wanted to go eat, so i took her here, not knowing it was run by new owners,(the place was packed so i ordered take out) I asked the lady at the counter if they have this "Malaysian" dish which they had before, she told me they made a new menu and took some of the items out. i asked her what they had that was close to it and she told me nothing. I then asked if they could make me some thing that was close to it. Out of no where this guy "Duncan" asked me if he could help me. i then told him the same story. he then told me no. Fallowed by "Either order some thing from the menu or get out" livid i wanted to just leave but i had to order something because i didn't want to go elsewhere.

After i Ordered i was waiting by the door. Duncan walked by to put a door wedge on the door and kicked my shoes. didn't even give me a apology or nothing.

after i got my food and left i told my friends about the new management my friends then tell me "ohh so thats why it sucks there now."

if only i knew sooner.

Not Worth it.
Submitted Wednesday, November 26, 2008 - 2:09am [Dine in]

Me and my girl friend had a coupon for a free appetizer for a value of 9.99

we never been to ABC but since we got pretty much a free appetizer we decided to go.

upon walking in. we got no service. after a minute some on finally realized that we were standing there and then told us kitchen is closed.

we decided to get take out we got the potato skins with the coupon and an order of onion rings.

it took a while to get, and after bringing it home(less then 5 min drive) the potato skins looked really poorly made. the 4-5 small skins looked really sad in the big box. The onion rings were really soggy and the portion was really small for the price i paid.

I don't understand how a place that that can still be running. i will definitely not be returning to this ABC country let another one, JUST to try it.
