Who orders the supplies?!?
Submitted Sunday, August 2, 2009 - 6:41pm [Dine in]

My gf and I have been to G-Men on several occasions. In regards to the quality of the ramen and the soup, we really cannot complain, it is simply delicious! This also includes the service, the staff has always been very cheerful and pleasing to deal with.

However, having said this, I come to wonder how a successful business such as Gyoza King, can consistently run out of food. On the several occasions that I have come to this restaurant, they have not once been fully stocked with all of their ingredients, therefore limiting customers from the already small menu they have. They've ran out of tomatoes, egg & greens salad, pork, ramen specials, and as of yesterday, the soup base for the ramen. Might I remind you that it was 9:30pm when we arrived to find the store closed with a sign stating that the restaurant had closed because they had run out of soup. We had even brought along a friend to introduce them to this restaurant only to find a 'Sorry, we're closed' sign hanging on the door!

Additionally, if we can make a suggestion, it would great that they stop using cheap Kraft grated Parmesan cheese used in the cheese egg salad (which was $5.00+) and instead, considering the price value, they would be able to substitute it with something of a higher quality.

The soup base is absolutely delicious, however, the lack of management is truly evident by the consistent shortage of supplies considering they simple ingredients such as tomatoes, eggs and greens.

Love the food, lack of management trumps all.

Worst service

Looking around at the reviews posted of this restaurant, I can not actually believe there are positive reviews. The first and last time I went to the restuarant with a friend, it was THE worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant.

We arrived around 9, and was brought in by our server to the table. We waited for a 20 mintues before the server actually took down our orders. Great start. When our waitress was taking down our orders, I specfically requested to change my pasta noodles to linguine instead of spghetti. When our food finally came, i looked at my pasta, and noticed that it was spghetti, and my friend's pasta was linguine, so they switched it around. The manager kept looking at my table, noticing that we were upset when we called our server to let her know about her noodles, but never once did he come up. When I told her that my pasta was spghetti and not linguine, she goes "Well, it's just a little bit thicker and we would have to cook everything agian...so...." I don't really like to complain, so I left it at that. Very professional. *thumbs up

The food was NOT good. I had the carbonara, and it tasted like cream mixed with oil. And I was stuck with a huge portion. I tasted my friend, who had just a regular spghetti bolognese, and it was sour. While we were eating our dinner, we noticed everything at the front was getting all ready to leave, the waiters were all sitting around the bar with their jackets on, and their bags on the table.
We finally got fed up with it, and deided to pack up our food and eat it at hoe, where we wouldn't be wasting anyone's time waiting for us to finish dinner.
When we received our bill, we asked our server if we would be able to get a discount considering she did mess up our orders. So she goes back to the manager, the manager just looks at us, then fixes up the bill. Never once did he come over to apoligize. The least they could have done was to offer us a discount without us asking for it ourselves. SO they gave us a 10% discount (wow) we left and that was the end of that restuarant.

Overall, Disgustingly poor service. Bad food.
If you're thinking of going to a pasta bar, or getting good italian pastas. Please go to Some Kind of Pasta! Won't disappoint.

Avoid this restaurant at all cost!!!!!!!!!!!!
