over spiced
Submitted Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 7:34pm [Dine in]

Was into this location a few weeks back to try the wood cooked flatbread was told to try the tandori chicken version. It looked nice a bit small in size for the $14 price tag. The beard had a nice crunch but unfortunatly all I could taste was the chutney and cilantro. I could not see much chicken let alone taste it. Very disapointed over all evem more so when I had to pay $6 for a beer. At $10 and less spice and more chicken I would have been happier.

Service was good very friendly no one appeared to be sitting around all staff was moving and working to keep guests happy. Nice set up with the exception of the entrance to the parking lot you can easily take the first entrance that will bring you to a differnet complex. I personally have driven past this location 100's times but the road sign really does not stand out too well in that location. In any case I will keep on passing by in the future.

Checked out the buffet a few weeks back they had a nice selection to try out. I am not a expert in Indian food but I enjoyed it it was not overly spicey and there was a veggi ball that was very tasty. Service was quick and plated were taken away fast. I got my monies wth in volume of food thats for sure.

Was out for a drive and we were getting hungry I spotted the patio and decided to check it out.
THe patio was setup with a glass roof and heaters for the coolers days, only probem I found was the varnish was deteriorating and is stickey. This happens over time and the table need to be sent out for refinishing.
Ordered the Philly cheese steak and it was very good. Sloppy and tender the way its supposed to be. The fries were home style and cooked just right. Decent price.

MY date had a salmon appitizer cant remember the name it looked good and she enjoyed it. Service was quick and the staff appreared to be running around from table to table and not sitting in the corner yacking it up instead of serving customers like you see in other pubs.

I decided to take in some pasta; I don’t know if its force of habit but I find it odd the host/server would ask us if we had a reservation when the place is nearly empty. Then to top it off "let me see if there is a table available” When there are 8 empty tables right beside her in one room and 4 out of 6 tables empty in the other room. I did not enjoy being seat right beside the table of 8 with kids, cerebrating a birthday. Or the comment “let me light the candle to make it romantic”, sure when there is a loud table behind you with screaming kids lighting a candle makes it romantic, right up there with ordering your meal from a clown.
Service other than that was ok as she was the only person that seemed to be waiting on tables. We made our order and to my surprise and disappointment in 10 minutes or less she was already bringing out our dishes.
We were given bread and it was tough it was old and my knife could not cut it, I ended up ripping apart with my hands. Fresh dishes do not take that short of time and they were not well prepared. Small portions more appetizers than main course. The chicken of what was in it was tough almost as tough as the pasta.
I have had better frozen pasta dinners from Safeway for a 3rd of the cost.

I would have made a comment to the server about the quality but my companion a novice to pasta dishes thought it was good and did not want to make issue of it.

Tried this place out Sat. not many seats but it was full we had to wait till some people left not a big deal the staff was friendly. But for a place that has a burger frys....... burgers fry menu. You would think they would have better fries then what was offered. They gave plenty of fries but they were not cooked ay a high enought temp they absorbed lots of gresse you could squese it out in your fingers.

The burger was ok plain nothing special $1.25 extra for cheese. for the price charge it should have been part of the price. The lettuce was not that fresh. Two burgers and fries with 2 drinks was over $30 too price for the quality of food.

The location was clean period decoration but still bland over all.

Been here 2x now stopped in for a plate of nachos and a beer the first night. For $10 you get a large platter of nachos lots of cheese and a good size side of sour cream and salsa way more then i needed. It was slightly over cooked in the oven so a couple of chips were slightly burnt but once past that, the rest was pretty good. I was greeted and seated by the friendly staff. I asked the server is they would put on the hockey game and they did so without any fuss. A bottle of Canadian was $5 a good deal.

Second visit had the burger and fries. lots of fries came with the order they were home style with the skin on and no salt the way i like them and there is nothing worse than getting too much salt on your fries. The burger was big at least a 6oz patty lots of toppings and bacon. It was hard to get into my mouth. Better than most fast food places but not quite as good as other sit down restaurants. The patty was not flavored in any way but still had some juice and not over cooked.

But for $10 still ok and you will be full. The decor is dated but it’s a neighborhood restaurant and it’s been around for a long time so granted it’s a bit rough around the edges but the chairs are still comfortable and the tables were clean. It was cleaner than some fast food places around town that have 4x’s the staff running around.

They appear to be training new staff so for the reviews who had problems before may want to retry it again in a month or two when they get the kinks ironed out.

When leaving both times the staff gave me a big smile and thank you on the way out, which was a nice touch? So if they are training new staff maybe they will upgrade the food a bit more and the decor some. It’s pretty close to my house so I will check it out again and watch the game on the big screen with a cheap beer

Breakfast in a Burger Joint
Submitted Sunday, November 14, 2010 - 3:14pm [Dine in]

Went for breakfast at this location this morning and it was very good, I had the 2four 5 platter ithink it was called
2 eggs 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 toast and 2 waffles and everything was tasty and only $9

My companion had a veggi omlette with hash browns with toast and she enjoyed it as well.
Service was fast and attentive, I thought it was a bit slwo to get the food but I was hungry, but the volume offood and quality made up for the seemly slow prep. But in hindsight it more then likely was the result of my hunger and I was full at the end. The decoration is a bit moer upscale compared the the other fatburger, I guess that is the Ricky's influence. The combination of the 2 menus enables the restaurant to make as much money as posssible out of one location good thinking. Great execution!!!

I will be back when I need my next big feed of breakfast.

Checked out this place this evening for a late lunch was greated and seated promptly. Given menus prompted for drinks and served our meal very quickly.

My date the pumpkin soup but found it a bit too salty I tried it it tasted fine but only had one spoon full.

I had a burger and fires platter. The fries were plentyful and cooked nicely. The burger was ok standard toppings with bacon but the bacon was tough and not very tasty. The patty was ok kinda plain not very juicy.

The restaurant seem very clean I did not pay too muhc attention to things. with all the construction going on they may be bombarded with construction workers that meesed the place up some for the last reviewer.
We were check on duringhte meal and the bill came out very quickly but was not picked up at all I sense so that max amount of tip would be left behind.

I ordered the Large Carnivore pizza, I have only had one deep dish pizza before and it was a greasy mess. But this was GOOD, the crust was perfect not too hard not too doughy. Lots of toppings and each slice held together as it was picked up. Even as left overs the next day reheated it was still very good.

Had the cheese burger fries and pop for $15.09

Lots of fries it was a double order I think, more then what could fit in the container. I did order a small but it was rung in as medium. They were good could have been a little more crispy but I would give them a 8/10 over all.

The burger was ok 2 flattened 3-4 oz patties, I watched them smash down each patty prior to cooking think a MC donalds pattey and flatten it and that what you get.

Lots of toppings included fresh the grilled onions and mushrooms were good but over all under all the toppings you could not taste the meat. Theses burger places are forgetting that its a hamburger not a veggi burger.

If your going as a couple only order one fries cause thats all you will need.

Price for the burger was high it you get the full topping set they offer I suppose it would be decent value. I would rather have more meat in the burger than all the extra free toppings.

I won't be back with those prices

Tonight I had the chicken kabob platter it was very nice tender lightly flavoured good portion. Service was good only complaint the waiter need to speak a little louder as we were on the patio and the street noise was pretty loud. He offered specials check in on us at the right time and did not push us out the door. Of course it was not busy so thre was no need to.

The patio chiars were a bit uncomforatable as the back had the metal support bar installed so that if you leaned back it dug into your back.

Submitted Tuesday, July 20, 2010 - 2:58pm [Dine in]

tried the 6oz combo that includes a weiner on top with cheese. The patty was dry no real taste to it, the bun was nice but not toasted. It it was toasted some it would have been better. Good fresh toppings.

The fries appeared to be home made skin on but were cooked in old oil and were a bit soggy.

My friend had the korean babq burger he said it was ok not a flavorfull as it should be but still ok. I tried a bit it was not too bad better then the plain patty.

The place was clean, a bit old nothing a good clean and pain job could not fix. bang for buck it was ok fresh oil for the fries and not over cook the burger so it retainssome juice it will be a good place for a burger fix.

Stopped going to this location months ago. They used to fresh grill the burgers to order. They are now pre cooking the patties for each order and then building the burger with toppings the nuking the entire burger.

As a result you get lettuce that is flat bland and less flavorful then cardboard.

Ordered the "the works" burger and it was excelent nice size patty ,lots of melted chesse, very juicy, grill cooked just right. The only negitve I could find and its a personal preferance is mayo, not a fan but still better then the other places I have tried out.

they also offer a Kangaroo burger that I will be back to try.

The famous wedge fries were not good I suspect they were cooked in old oil there was penty of fries but the slight taste of burnt to them. My friend could not eat the fries

At $15 for a plate you should be given an option of switching to onion rings for no extra charge but for $2 you can change. You can switch to a salad for no extra charge

Service was good but the place was not that busy. Sat in the outside patio comfy chairs, inside seemed a bit dark

Submitted Thursday, July 1, 2010 - 11:17am [Dine in]

Tried this location out a few weeks back, and was not overly impressed. The whole location need a serious cleaning and touch up. The vent hood was not working properly so smoke from the grill was not being vented properly.
The chairs they had for the patio area were awful but it was the only place to sit that day. The napkin dispensers were empty and you need extra napkins eating the burger.

I ordered a burger with the works that included hot peppers. My fault with the hot peppers on it, that was all I could really taste. It very juciy with lots of topping but once again with all the other toppings I could not taste the patty. The fries were ok.

I have been to This location a couple of times the staff really try hard at providing top notch service. The food is good. The burger is loaded with lots of toppings but almost too many as it takes away from the meat. THe fries are nicely done not overloaded with salt.

I would probally go more but the hefty price tag for a meal prevents me from doing so.

Typical mom/pop dated decor nothing fancy a bit cluttered.

Ordered the supersub. This thing was large lots of meat pre-flat top grilled with some kind of dressing. The result wasa bit greasy but ok. It would the perfect late night on a bender need food place to eat mid day not soo much.

steady line of customers coming so there is probally other good things to try.

Service was good but $2,50 for a bottle of pop was a bit steep.

Lack of service
Submitted Wednesday, July 25, 2007 - 5:25pm [Dine in]

It was mostly empty on a Friday night at 8pm got there early before my date. 2 servers/hostess came to see if I wanted to be seated, within minutes.

Once we were seated service came fast, took our drink and food order. And all came just as fast.
Ordered a natcho platter it was ok for the price I have had better.

But we were staying for a while to chat and the server refilled my dates coffee serveral times but completely ignored me. Kind of stupid when I would have had to pay for refills on my drink. We had to ask for our bill and in the end no one came to take out money. In the end I left nearly exact change for the bill and walked out.

But it was nice to be left alone while I chatted with my date.
