Tasty Dosas
Submitted Friday, July 18, 2008 - 1:51pm [Dine in]

House of Dosa is another restaurant we frequent regularly. The ambiance is nothing to scream about and the service is often slow...but each time we go, it has been well worth the wait. The chicken and mixed vegetable dosa is delicious and so is the roti with gravy.

I just wish they would get more organized and train their staff to be more efficient. Often they seem confused as to which order goes to which table.

They recently got a liquor license, so you can now enjoy a beer with your dosa. Even if you don't go on Monday's when dosas are half-price, you still get great value for your money. Will go back again and again.

We're regulars

Salsa and Agave is one of our most favorite restaurants in the city. The food is always fresh and delicious. I love the fact that they run out of things, as it shows items are turning over continually. The crowds have gotten bigger here, so you sometimes will have to plan to go at strategic times. :) Have been going for the past year and have no complaints. Love it, love it, love it.

Great evening!

This was our first visit to Jules for dinner and we all enjoyed our meals immensely. The menu offers terrific value, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the service was excellent and friendly. We will definitely be back and hope to see more of these sorts of restaurants make their way into Gastown.

Excellent
Submitted Saturday, April 14, 2007 - 6:42pm [Dine in]

Based on previous reviews, we made the journey from Vancouver to Mahek for a late lunch. The service was attentive and the food was really delicious and served piping hot. We ordered the vegetable samosa which was fantastic. It was served with a small side of spicy chick peas. We shared the butter chicken and mutter paneer with a side of rice and naan. All of the dishes were larger portions than we usually see in Vancouver and everything was very good. Will make the trek back to Mahek again.

It's Tasty and Doesn't Gouge You

We have been here a couple of times (and at the Burrard St. location). The food is pretty good. Not the most incredible Italian that I have ever had but at the same time, it is consistent and tasty and doesn't not leave a hole in your wallet. For a quick dinner that is satisfying, I will return to both locations again.

Spicy!

This place is okay. We enjoyed the flavors but found the sauces too soupy. The staff are nice and the service was good. The carpet looks like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Will try other Indian restaurants next time.

We'll Be Back!
Submitted Monday, October 2, 2006 - 11:15pm [Dine in]

Being new to Vancouver, I chose this restaurant based on the previous reviews. My husband and I felt like some pho tonight and really enjoyed this place. The staff are very friendly and the food was great. Everything looked and smelled delicious at the other tables. We will definitely go back with an appetite!
