I have been coming here for a while now, and every time I finish the sandwich I can't believe how freaakin good it is! If you haven't been you must go! But, it's not for people who want the regular "Subway" toppings; it has options like roasted peppers, grilled artichokes, delicious cheeses... mmmm. Seriously check it out.
Nice Place - Stupid Name.

It is the only restaurant that is directly located on the beach itself. So, you don't have the traffic in front of your view of your ocean view. It also had a roof top patio, however, it was not open when we went.
Nice atmosphere, with a live band.
The food was very nice. I had the black cod, which I liked. It came with very nice crisp vegetables. We also ordered crab hush puppies and prawns. Everything was very good.
I also must comment on the service. We were a party of 6, and the waiter was VERY attentive. He made great drink recommendations and was extremely efficient.

Have been to various (high/medium end) Japanese restaurants throughout Vancouver. Dan is truly a amazing place. It is not a trendy/hip place, but, it is authentically delicious. Everything is prepared with so much care. The owner is sooo passionate and this reflects upon his food. When going, it is always good to try the daily specials, as they are usually VERY cool/good. Some favourites include:
-The Sashimi is sooo fresh and good
-The Black Cod
But, honestly everything is good!!!
Dont believe everything you read

service- young man who was very polite and obliging.
food- we ordered a couple of dishes... none were that outstanding. They were decent to poor. After being rated by so many viewers as a the best restaurant in Whiterock we were quite surprised. Here is what we ordered so you can get and idea:
We had the price fixed menu which included:
-salmon spring rolls
-chocolate moulton cake
The only thing that was good was the chocolate cake and chili prawns.
ambience- it was nice, and relaxing... other than the fact that the people across from us were making out lol!
Oh, and my boyfriend went to the bathroom and he walk right out because it looked like a chevron station bathroom.. filthy.

Besides the wait and the being put into the narrow back of the restaurant, it was great. I really love their food. I had some delicious blackcod. It was sooo good, it was crisp on the outside (almost tasted like bacon) and soo tender inside. I also had the goat cheese, which was also fabulous - especially the bread that came with it! They also have a decent wine list. So, if you are looking for a casual place to have dinner and drinks with friends, it's perfect! It is a bit noisy and cluttered, but, I think that adds to the fun, upbeat atmosphere. Definitely a must to try when coming to Vancouver

I decided to go to Samurai because a) I only had an hour break b) I was starving and craving sushi c) there were no sushi restaurants close. I didn't think that it could be that bad, as it was packed full of people. I guess I was wrong.
Although the raw fish within the sushi was not smelly or anything, the sushi roll itself was sloppy and gross. It had like an inch of rice around it, and no lie, one of the rolls was as big as my hand. So, if you like ALOT of rice around your rolls, go there.
Small, packed and kinda dirty.
Meh, I just had take-out, but they weren't overly nice, nor were they especially nice.
So, all in all I didn't really like it because of the amount of rice and the size of some of their rolls.
Best in Langley/Surrey

I have been to this restaurant quite a few times. It has very good food.. The people are nice. I definately think it is the best place to go if your in the Langley/Surrey area. (Ive been to them all- I used to live there.) Anyways, some favourites include the BC roll( I normally hate them, but theirs are really good), and generally whatever is on special, because it is the freshest.
